Work of Art
by
Jay Northcote

When he agreed to model for Levi, the photographer who lived next door, Hal hadn’t realised it would be such a hands on experience.

“I’m going for something colourful,” Levi explained as he dusted powder paint onto Hal’s chest with a brush.

It tickled, and Hal’s face heated as his nipples tightened in response.

“Are you cold?” Levi asked, dark brows furrowing over his beautiful hazel eyes. “I can turn the heater on if you need it.”

“No.” Hal forced himself not to flinch as Levi drew the brush over his pecs again. “I’m fine.”

“God. you have an amazing body.” Levi circled Hal slowly. “Your muscles are perfect, exactly what I want for this piece.” His gaze slid down Hal’s body like syrup.

Hal felt as though Levi appreciated him in the objective way that someone might look at a building or a work of art. He stared longingly at Levi’s sharp cheekbones and the hint of stubble on his lean jaw. His appreciation of Levi was definitely not objective.

Levi dusted more paint onto Hal’s shoulders, smoothing it down Hal’s back with his palms.

A curl of dangerous heat flared in Hal’s groin. He started to count in multiples of seven as Levi’s hands moved south. That infernal brush swept over Hal’s buttocks, leaving tingling trails of sensation in their wake. Levi followed it with his fingertips and Hal bit his lip.

The counting wasn’t working.

By now, Hal’s cock was sticking out like a dowsing rod over water. He kept his his eyes fixed on the wall opposite, cheeks flaming, as Levi moved in front of him again and snorted.

“This isn’t a porn shoot you know.”

Hal chanced a glance at Levi and saw that he was smiling. But his amusement didn’t mask the heat that simmered in his eyes.

Maybe not so objective then.

Hal had been wanting to ask Levi out for weeks. He’d never expected to do it naked, covered in multicoloured paint and with a raging hard-on, but he figured it was now or never.

He cleared his throat.“Do you fancy going out for a drink later?” he asked.

Levi’s face lit up as he grinned. “I thought you’d never ask.”

Don't forget to let Jay know what you thought of Work of Art in the comments. We thank Jay for partying with us and writing the most delicious ficlet.

Author Bio:

Jay lives just outside Bristol in the West of England, with her husband, two children, and two cats.
She comes from a family of writers, but she always used to believe that the gene for fiction writing had passed her by. She spent years only ever writing emails, articles, or website content. One day, she decided to try and write a short story–just to see if she could–and found it rather addictive. She hasn’t stopped writing since.

To enter to win one ebook of the winner's choice from Jay Northcote's backlist, please leave a comment on this blog post and let us know your name and a means of contacting you (e.g., email, Twitter handle, link to Goodreads account, etc.)

  1. LOL! I guess poor Hal would have to count in multiples of seven forever, and it still wouldn't help... It would not help me either, being in such worrisome situation... I've loved the short story. Thank you!
