The roadblock he’s taken years detouring soon becomes a reality he can no longer avoid. After six years, Parker will have to see Sarah’s brother again—the only man he’s ever truly loved.

After running away from the truth and moving to Boston, Jason Maxwell must finally face Parker again—and the guilt he’s felt for leaving Parker all those years ago. Confronting the man who changed everything Jason thought he knew about himself, Jason realizes the miles he’s put between them hasn’t diminished what Parker means to him. Now, with the undeniable way he feels about Parker, Jason is determined to finally make things right.

Parker glanced down at Jason’s hand grasping his forearm then lifted brutal, cold eyes back up, pinning Jason where he stood. Abruptly, Jason let go but stepped in between Parker and the door. “Please, can we talk? Just for a minute?” Had he ever felt so terrified and desperate in his entire life?

“You’re about six years too late to talk,” Parker deadpanned.

“I know. I’m so sorry, Parker. I never should have done that.”

“You made that pretty obvious in that letter—if a few pathetic sentences could even count as a letter. So, if that’s all you have to say, don’t worry. I got that extremely loud and painfully clear.”

Jason sidestepped again to block Parker from leaving, his bigger frame making Parker look up. Jason’s body thrummed being this close to him, catching him off guard. Everything about this day wasn’t what he’d expected.  “No, I mean I never should’ve left you there.” Holy shit, this was spiraling out of control. He’d wanted to apologize but, instead, desperation clawed as he tried to keep Parker right here with him. “I...I got—”

“It doesn’t matter. I’ve moved on. I’m not the same person you left in North Carolina. I had an incredibly long and eye-opening bus ride back to Jersey, and I left all that other shit behind.” He waved his hand in front of Jason with disgust. “So, this whole apology is a waste of time. We’ll smile our smiles for Sarah and then go our separate ways again. Don’t worry about me. Don’t think about me. I stopped thinking about you a long time ago—the second you cut me out of your life without a backward glance.” The harsh glare Parker pinned him with made Jason swallow the lump forming in his throat.

As Parker pushed past him to go back into the restaurant, Jason’s heart thundered: for the words just said, for the words left unsaid, and most of all because he still knew Parker Wilson better than Parker wanted him to.

And he knew when Parker was lying

Angel stood motionless enjoying their contact, still in a protective stance in front of Max, when he felt that hot breath wonderfully caress his ear again. Max pressed his mouth firmer against his ear this time, making him unconsciously tilt his head to give Max a little more access. Angel felt the curve of Max’s smile against the side of his neck, and…wait! Holy shit. This can’t be this easy. Angel unmistakably felt Max’s erection pressed delectably against his ass. “Well, are you going to grab him or should I?” Max’s deep voice penetrated his erotic haze. Angel looked up and noticed the fallen robber searching for his firearm under the booth. “I got him,” Angel growled. He took quick, determined steps toward the man, kicking bar chairs out of his way and grabbing the man with both hands by the collar, slinging him into the nearest booth. The man went flying into the seat like he weighed twenty pounds and Angel never even broke a sweat. “Be quiet and stay there if you value your life,” Angel said calmly, pinning the man to the wall with a fire hot gaze that said I’m fucking serious. Angel spun around, his braid swinging over his left shoulder as he heard Max tell the bartender to calm himself down and dial 911, everything was over now. Some of the bar patrons were rising from their hideouts and applauding them. Max turned back toward him and they locked eyes, feeling that click again. Max came to stand in front of him. His firm chest was outlined through his tight Seventeenth Street Surf Shop threadbare T-shirt. Max wasn’t overly muscular and he had a little less definition in his mid-section, but he was still extremely handsome. Angel dropped his gaze and watched Max’s slow hand inch toward him. Max stroked Angel’s braid as gently as a newborn baby’s face before carefully moving it back over Angel’s shoulder. “I guess we make a pretty good team…Maximus.” Angel rolled that name off his tongue the way he knew Max liked it. Angel watched the man shiver. “That remains to be seen.” He winked at Angel.

Atonement Camp.
Pastor Harris is only going to save his career.
But while he doesn’t want to be there, a change of heart may be just what he needs...

Blurb

The oldest translation of a Gospel is returned to the world by a secret society long dedicated to its preservation. In it, Jesus explicitly condemns bigotry and homophobia. In a new world in which LGBTQ passengers receive preferential boarding for flights and the United States has elected its first lesbian President, Pastor Rick Harris is stalwart, closeted preacher who doggedly holds onto his increasingly unpopular convictions.

When an incendiary sermon goes too far and offends an influential family, Rick makes a painful choice to keep his job: He attends an atonement camp run by drag queens for society’s most unrepentant and terminally incurable homophobes.

Atonement Camp is immersion therapy for Pastor Harris, and it might be working. An open bar with pedicures, a devastatingly attractive roommate and an endless supply of glitter help him manage to make new friends. Soon, Rick and his cohorts learn the camp may hold its own secrets. Amid the smiling faces and scantily clad pool boys who staff the camp, a clandestine group plots to discredit the New Revelation and everything it stands for.

If Rick has the conviction to confront his own hypocrisy, he might be able to uncover the conspirators with help from his adopted flock—and find new truths within himself.

Chapter 1

Northern Syria

It was just after sunrise. The call to prayer from the nearby city’s rooftop loudspeakers receded as Dr. Michael Donahue’s driver left a familiar road for the makeshift trails that led deep into the desert. One faith bridged to the next, he thought. Before long, he wouldn’t need the light jacket, but he wore it anyway. It was a mysterious quest, and he tugged the jacket tight around his chest.

The jeep bounced over the rough terrain as Dr. Donahue carefully poured hot water from his thermos over his yerba mate leaves. His second mate would be less bitter than the first. Each time he made a fresh tea, the leaves lost more of their bitterness to the boiling water. The same leaves could be used again and again any given morning. It reminded him of his profession. Archeology was the sober study of the forgotten—people who lived, laughed, suffered, and died, their history diluted by each passing year. Dr. Donahue was determined to learn as much as he needed to reanimate their past with subtle detail, adding context to what would otherwise be merely more than a list of dates and details for his undergraduates to memorize before a test.

As promised, a man stood by the still-empty dig site. He was dressed in a Western style—no keffiyeh or other head dressing. With short sleeves and rugged boots, his attire was more practical than fashionable. Dr. Donahue always appreciated utility and function above much else. He acknowledged that his estimation of the man’s credibility was thus-far unearned, but he nonetheless felt more comfortable in the company of the familiar.

The site had been Dr. Donahue’s home for most of the past year. His team would return after Ramadan. Dr. Donahue’s research specialization centered almost primarily around the early Christian era. He took a certain guilty pleasure in casually admitting his atheism each semester to the newest crop of freshman at his university in Washington, D.C. Like all things, he saw it as a learning opportunity. One is not excused from understanding something just because they don’t agree with it, he’d remind them. The site itself was an early Christian refuge under the Roman Empire. Forgotten by time, but now rediscovered. Painstakingly, he and his team would uncover artifacts and consider what stories they told about the people who made them. Dust from the jeep’s tires made a gritty fog that enveloped the air. Dr. Donahue squinted, his eyes already dry. He coughed and plodded through the sand to the man silently awaiting his arrival.

“Dr. Donahue.” The professor extended his hand to the stranger.

The man took his hand and smiled. “Thank you for coming. Your research associate mentioned your name last year when he worked with us, and we immediately knew we needed to meet with you.”

Dr. Donahue fanned the remaining traces of the sand from his face. “We?”

The man flashed a half smile. “Consider us like yourself, Professor. Archeologists.”

“I would assume, but that doesn’t answer my question.”

The man chuckled. “By the end of the day, I expect that to change. Come. Follow me,” he beckoned.

Still confused, the professor followed the man down the makeshift stairs to the dig site.

“We’re not certain where it was found,” the man said, waving his arm over the site, “but this is likely close and as good a spot as any.”

“What, exactly, was found?”

The man frowned. “Technically, it was never lost. Let me be more precise. This is where it will be rediscovered.”

The professor felt his frustration growing. “What, and by whom?”

The man turned to face the professor, still smiling. “The oldest copy of the Gospel of Mark ever discovered. I’m what we refer to as a Custodian—a group of people committed to protecting this draft as we have done for more generations than our history may account for.”

The professor’s jaw dropped. He looked for answers in the man’s eyes to questions he could not manage to formulate.

“Every truth has its season, professor,” the man said, lowering himself to sit next on an empty crate near an assortment of digging tools. “This region has been plagued with war. We fear that if the artifact is not returned to the world now, it may never be.”

If his research associate hadn’t already vouched so strongly for the meeting, the professor was certain he would have already left the madman in another cloud of obscuring sand. Instead he asked: “Why have you kept it in the first place?”

“It contains a passage not found in any modern text. What’s the American expression? ‘One man’s waste is another man’s treasure’? That’s how our forefathers saw it. They saw something worthy of protection until the world was ready for the message. That time is now.”

Dr. Donahue smiled. His birthday was the following week, and the realization that his research associate might have set this up as an elaborate practical joke began to seem like the most likely explanation. It wouldn’t be out of character for him, he thought.

“So, where is it?” he asked, playing along.

The man pointed to a black chest. Taking the bait, Dr. Donahue carefully lifted the lid, expecting some puppet to pop out and exclaim “Happy Birthday!” Instead, the heavy lid creaked open to reveal a scroll bound in plastic and wound over on itself. His smile faded. Even without the aid of his radiocarbon dating equipment, he could tell the document was old. Very, very old.

“Do you believe in magic?”
Jack didn’t believe in a lot of things: politics, soul mates, religion. Stage magic, all of it. She sure as hell didn’t believe in anything supernatural.
Work, traffic, humidity—those she believed in. Not that she didn’t employ a little whimsy in her life. She liked reading novels, especially a rousing space opera or an angsty, dystopian handwringer. Any piece of fiction penned by Noelle Stevenson, illustrated or digital, enjoyed a prominent place in her leisure time. She loved science fiction movies as social and creative commentary. And the wicked special effects.
Fellow Floridian Carl Hiaasen she found funny and topical. Had she any close friends, she could have discussed some of his biting social commentary.
But believe in any of these fictions, magical or not? Of course not. Jack Whitaker was a rational person. The walls in her tiny apartment, bare of anything but two Firefly posters and a magazine clipping of a black-and-white picture of blues singer and lesbian icon, Gladys Bentley, echoed only her voice, both literally and symbolically. Work as a security guard satisfied without stimulating. On the occasions she felt a tingle for socializing or, heaven forbid, physical touch, she booted up her laptop and binge-watched the latest postapocalyptic series.

Once, she had believed in big ideas like spirituality and a wife and kids. She’d since grown up.
Most of this changed in mid-July on her way home from work at the aquarium in Timuca, a small city in Northern Florida. The day started off as tidily as usual, although traffic seemed a bit less hectic and the day much sultrier than usual.
“Do you believe in magic?”
By the end of the day, when someone with feral memories posed the question to her, she answered differently than she would have just twelve hours prior.

Can love and acceptance help Callum forgive himself?

Blurb

Callum’s past haunts him and he’s desperate for a fresh start. When his uncle takes him in and the manager of the Heaven and Hell Club gives him a chance, things might be looking up.

Then he meets Dylan—a cocky, make-up wearing twink who challenges all his assumptions about himself.

Getting to know each other changes everything, as they give each other the love and acceptance they’ve both craved throughout their lives. But will it be enough to ease their doubts, heal their wounds, and allow them to have their own happy ever after?

Forgiven is the third book in the Heaven and Hell Club series. It’s a hurt/comfort romance, with a slow burn relationship, a bi-sexual awakening, tattoos, and piercings in interesting places. It can be read as a standalone, but works better as part of the series.

Content warning: homophobic parents

Callum didn’t move until he heard the door shut, then he started the level again. It was easier now that he was alone. His inhibitions dropped away from him and he focused on slicing his beams of light through the coloured blocks. He’d selected easy mode, which was fun but not a challenge. He managed to hit every block the second time through the song, so upped the difficulty level.

He had to move his body a little more on standard mode. The blocks came faster, the patterns were slightly harder. As they were more in time to the music, it actually made the level easier. He had to stretch to hit blocks when they were right at the sides or up high.

He upped the difficulty again and found himself moving even more—only to reach the blocks, he wasn’t actually dancing or anything. The pace of the blocks was almost frantic, and he quickly bombed out of the level. He tried again and again, quickly losing track of time as he became determined to get to the end of the level. Once he’d finished it, he set himself a goal to hit all the blocks in the right direction.

He wasn’t sure how many times he played it through. Being within the virtual world meant he was completely absorbed in what he was doing. He’d worked up a sweat, his heart beat faster and adrenaline made him buzz. He’d learnt the words to the song and was singing along to it. He was moving more now, his body reacting to the music as well as the blocks that flew at him. It was fun.

It was only when his stomach rumbled that he wondered how long he’d been playing. When he got to the end of the level, he stopped and carefully took off the headset. Dylan was sitting on the sofa. Callum glanced around, but there were no pizza boxes in sight. He hadn’t smelt any food either, but he’d needed to be sure.

“You never left, did you?”

Dylan shrugged. “You look like you’ve been having fun.”

Callum scowled. “You tricked me.”

“Maybe, but it gave you the freedom to let loose, didn’t it?”

Callum stared at the headset in his hands.

“I told you the game would get you moving.”

“I still can’t dance.”

“You should have seen yourself, darling. You’ve got a good sense of rhythm and some moves.”

Synopsis

The aftermath of the last battle has left Nickel weak in bed and grounded for the next decade. Despite being in trouble, Nickel wants to return to the battle against the enemy as soon as he can, but thoughts of Platinum, the dragon helping to nurse him back to health, keep distracting him.

Platinum can’t believe how much his life has changed. He went from being a lonely fugitive on the run to part of a family in only hours. The last few days have been his happiest, especially now that he’s met Nickel. He knows it’s only temporary, though. The enemy that kept him captive for most of his life isn’t finished with him yet, but even Platinum and Nickel’s combined powers might not be enough to save them all.

Nickel fought to open his eyes. The lids felt like they were weighted down or as if someone had sewn them shut. He struggled with them for a few long minutes, then, exhausted, gave up and drifted off to sleep.

The second time Nickel woke, most of the weight had vanished. His eyes slid open easily enough, and then he had to blink away tears as the bright light from his bedside table lamp almost blinded him.

“Sorry!” Someone whose voice Nickel didn’t recognize gasped. There was a thump as something hit the floor, and the light snapped off a second later. Footsteps ran away from him, heading toward the door. More light flooded into the room as the door was flung open, but Nickel’s eyes had finally adjusted. “He’s awake!” the stranger yelled into the hallway.

A series of familiar thumps, bumps, squeals, and exclamations sounded as Nickel’s family literally dropped whatever they were doing and ran toward Nickel’s bedroom. The door was flung open wider, and a small stampede rushed to Nickel’s bedside.

Alloy reached Nickel first. He climbed onto the chair pulled up next to Nickel’s bed where the stranger had been sitting moments before. He leaned over Nickel’s head to see him better.

“Yup, he’s awake,” Alloy chirped happily. Alloy’s hair was rumpled from playing, and the bright red-and-blue strands that matched the colors of each of his wide eyes hung over his forehead. A pair of hands wrapped around Alloy’s middle and gently lifted him off the chair. Alloy was happy to settle into Mercury’s arms so Mercury could bend closer to Nickel.

“How are you feeling?” Mercury asked. His voice was soft, almost as if he was afraid of startling Nickel, which was silly after all the yelling from just a moment ago. Mercury’s bronze-colored hair was long on his neck, and his bronze-colored eyes looked concerned. Mercury was still wearing the button-up shirt he wore to work, so it must be late afternoon.

Nickel blinked slowly, trying to figure out what he had done to deserve the fanfare. Had he been sleepwalking? No, he didn’t feel strong enough to sit up, let alone get out of bed and walk around. He must have been sick, yet that answer didn’t jive either.

The rest of his family had lined up behind Mercury. Lumie was standing next to Copper, their bright red hair and eyes an exact match for the shade in Alloy’s hair. They were fire dragons, but Lumie was only ten years old while Copper was eighteen, the same age as Nickel. Next to them were ’Ron and Chrome, the two earth dragons. Chrome looked like he had been digging outside again; half of his face and his clothing were covered in dirt the same color as his and ’Ron’s hair. They were both thirteen years old, but ’Ron was considerably cleaner than Chrome. Dane had his hands on ’Ron’s shoulders, no doubt to keep her from jumping onto the bed to give Nickel a hug. That would be painful, but Nickel still couldn’t remember why his body ached so much.

Dane was the tallest person in the room. His blond hair seemed to glow, and his ears were pointed at the moment, which meant the glamor he used to hide his otherworldly appearance was down. He was unbelievably beautiful, but then he was the child of a god.

Zinc was next in line. Her long white hair, distinctive of air dragons, was loose from the braid she usually kept it in. It hung in a wave down her back. Her gray eyes were earnest as they looked at Nickel, except her face seemed thinner than Nickel remembered. She also seemed to be taller, almost Dane’s height.

Nickel blinked in surprise, and then saw the hand clasped in Zinc’s and gaped. Zinc, with her hair still in its distinctive white braid, was standing next to herself. Only, now Nickel was realizing that the first version of Zinc was actually male. They were egg twins, identical dragons except for their gender, hatched out of the same egg. He was Platinum, the dragon who Nickel and the rest of his family had been searching for ten years.

Like a spark had been lit, a fire erupted in Nickel’s head. He winced at the sudden pain, only it didn’t exactly hurt. Memories flooded back, each a little video that connected with the others to give him the whole story. There were a lot of them, the sheer volume overwhelming him and causing the pain-mimicking feeling.

Searching the woods for the person mucking with the weather. Finding out that Platinum had escaped from the enemy scientists. Watching Lumie and Platinum get kitnapped. Flying off to defeat the scientists once and for all. Losing the battle. And then nothing. He didn’t know how he had gotten home, only that he was safe now.

“How long am I grounded for?” Nickel asked. His voice was thick and scratchy and his throat dry. How long had it been since he had last spoken? Surely it couldn’t be more than a few hours. A day at most.

Mercury let out a growly snort. “For the foreseeable future. And don’t even think the word ‘candy.’”

Nickel sighed, but at the moment he honestly just wanted a glass of water. Begging for candy could wait until he could sit up properly again.

Blurb

I’ve had my fair share of less than proud relationship moments, but waking up married to my brother-in-law’s best friend is a new low.

A drunken wedding to a man who already rejected me once? Check. A hefty bet about how long it will last? Check. My feisty new husband, determined to make our friends pay up? Double check.

I’ve never managed to make a real relationship last nearly a year, there’s no way Daniel will stick around long enough to win this bet. The only problem is the longer he stays, the more the lines blur between what’s real and what’s for show. Does he feel it too, or am I totally screwed?

***Screwed is a woke up married, faking it to their friends but also totally hooking up, sweet, STEAMY love story that happens to be the fourth book in the Four Bears Construction series. There are no bear shifters in this series, only the OTHER kind of bears.

Excerpt

I lift my left hand closer to my face, sure I’m having some kind of hangover induced hallucination. I mean, why the hell would I have a silver band around my left ring finger? Running my thumb over the band, it feels very much real, the metal smooth and warm from my skin.

“What the actual fuck?” I mutter, finally leaning over and filling my mouth with water so I can rinse and spit. Obviously, I got drunk and decided to put on Ren’s wedding band for some reason that I’m sure made sense when I was ten shots of tequila deep.

I shuffle back out of the bathroom, slipping the ring off as I go. Ollie is still passed the fuck out on the bed, the sheets tangled around one leg while the other hangs off the side of the bed, his ass looking entirely biteable in his tight boxer briefs. I glance down at myself, realizing for the first time that I have no clue what I fell asleep in. A pair of loose fitting boxers hang on my hips. Ollie’s underwear, awesome.

Oh no, did we fuck? I look around helplessly for any clue to what might’ve happened. There aren’t any condom wrappers or lube packets in sight, but that doesn’t necessarily prove anything. I slip one hand into my underwear and between my ass cheeks. No traces of lube, and my hole doesn’t feel sore, so whatever we might’ve done, it wasn’t that. Thank fuck, because I would’ve been pissed if I blacked out a dicking from a man like that.

I don’t want to rummage through Ollie’s stuff, so I set the ring on the nightstand on his side of the bed where he’ll be able to see it and put it away when he wakes up. Good thing I didn’t lose it. Ren would’ve had my ass, and not in the fun way.

I climb back into bed, propping my pillow up against the headboard and grabbing my phone so I can check for any missed calls. My heart jolts when I see dozens of missed calls and texts from Ren.

“Oh fuck, please don’t be anything bad,” I mutter, opening the text thread.

Ren: I can’t decide if I’m pissed or amused right now. I can’t believe you did this and with Ollie of all people

That’s not a good sign. I scroll up to get more context, and I find a video I apparently sent to Ren at three in the morning. I swear to god if Ollie and I made a porn and sent it to Ren… I shake my head at myself and hit the play button on the video.

“I should call Ren and tell him to come down here. Shit, I think this thing is recording. Oh, I can send it to Ren!” I giggle and hiccup. “Rennnnnnnn, I know you’re probably balls deep in your man, or vice versa, but Ollie and I are at the Little White Wedding Chapel and you should totally come down here and watch us get married. Oh my god, bring Cole too. He should see his brother get married. Can you bring rice to throw? Fuck, do we have rice to throw at their wedding?”

The camera jostles and Ollie comes into view looking just as fucking hammered as I did.

“You’re not supposed to throw rice. We’re going to get bubbles.”

“Bubbles! Ren, bring bubbles!” I start laughing again, and Ollie joins in. “Dang, they’re calling our name, I have to go. Hey, this means you and me are going to be brother-in-laws. Brothers-in-law? Brother-ins-laws?” I start laughing again, and the video ends.

“Nooooooo,” I gasp, staring at my phone in horror. After the video is a dozen texts from Ren telling me not to marry Ollie and then a few more where he seems pretty resigned to the fact that it probably happened and mildly pissed at me. “No, no, no.”

About the Author

Author K.M.Neuhold is a complete romance junkie, a total sap in every way. She started her journey as an author in new adult, MF romance, but after a chance reading of an MM book she was completely hooked on everything about lovely- and sometimes damaged- men finding their Happily Ever After together. She has a strong passion for writing characters with a lot of heart and soul, and a bit of humor as well. And she fully admits that her OCD tendencies of making sure every side character has a full backstory will likely always lead to every book having a spin-off or series. When she's not writing she's a lion tamer, an astronaut, and a superhero...just kidding, she's likely watching Netflix and snuggling with her husky while her amazing husband brings her coffee.
