If they could stop arguing for a hot second . . . they just might fall in love.

Blurb

Gabriel Moretti and Sean Cooper should be friends. They’re both passionate about serving delicious food to their customers. They both love to kick back with the other food truck owners at the collective they’ve joined. But maybe it’s possible to have too much in common . . .

Especially when they’ve chosen the exact same name for their food trucks.

Gabriel and Sean know that one of them will have to change the name. The only question is, who’s willing to give in first?

It’s inevitable that with such a difficult decision, their tempers flare. But to their shock, their deeply-buried chemistry ignites too. Could it be that for them fighting is actually flirting, and what they really crave is each other?

Excerpt

“Someone’s name needs to change by September first,” Tony said. “That’s the first home game at the Coliseum,” he added, referring to the home football stadium of the University of Southern California—the lot was situated only a few blocks away from the stadium entrance, and they already knew on game days, they’d be overwhelmed.

“Alright,” Sean said. “We’ll figure something out.” That gave them a little over a month to either make a decision—or kill each other. Whichever came first.

Tony stood. “Good luck,” he said. “I’ll be around if you decide you need a referee.” And then he was gone, leaving the two of them alone.

Sean couldn’t remember a time they’d ever been alone. Their friends had probably gone out of their way to make sure of that. Not sure if anything would still be left standing if it was just the two of them.

“Not for this,” Gabriel said, and the underlying intensity—the intimacy—in his voice made Sean’s hand freeze on his beer bottle.

He glanced up, and Gabriel was staring at him, those dark eyes reflecting his tone. More than once during the last two years, Sean had been reminded of his very first reaction to Gabriel.

Tall. Big. Broad. Beautiful.

It had been the first time since Milo that he’d seen a guy and felt that instantaneous moment of attraction. Then Gabriel had opened his mouth, and the moment was gone, but it had existed.

Sean often remembered it at the worst possible times. Like right now.

“So,” Sean said, clearing his throat. Trying not to think of how dark the corner of the bar was, how the flickering candle on the table was reflected in Gabriel’s eyes. How the light turned his face into a Renaissance masterpiece. “How are we going to do this?”

“All business,” Gabriel teased, but the edge of his voice was almost . . . sweet. Like he thought Sean’s attempt to be professional wasn’t annoying, but cute.

Something that Sean never expected from Gabriel was sweetness.

“Did we have something else we needed to talk about that isn’t business?” Sean wondered.

“No, but we have time. Over a month,” Gabriel said, taking a sip of his beer. “What’s the rush? Maybe we’ll negotiate better if we get to know each other first.”

“You mean that you want to charm me first so that you’ll get the upper hand.” He didn’t really think that was true—Gabriel could be difficult and frustrating and slippery, but Sean wasn’t sure that he’d do something so underhanded. He wasn’t a bad guy. Sean had learned that much by watching his friendship with Tony and Lucas and Ash and Tate blossom.

Even their own relationship, while still combative, had lost the sharper edges in the last few months.

Gabriel shrugged. “The best negotiation is one where we both get what we want.”

“I’m not sure how we can do that,” Sean admitted. “We both want the same thing.”

“Do we?”

Sean made a frustrated noise. “You know we do. We’ve wanted the same goddamn thing for the last two years, and you even threw a meatball at my chest to try to get me to cave. So don’t start, okay? I’m not stupid. I know exactly what you’re after.”

“Do you?” Gabriel’s mouth curved into something dangerous. Or maybe that was the unwanted attraction to him blooming inside Sean.

“You want to win,” Sean said.

“Maybe we can figure out a way we can both win,” Gabriel suggested.

“Based on what I know we want, I find that hard to believe,” Sean said. Then hesitated. This was exactly why Tony hadn’t wanted to leave them alone. Had wanted to play referee. He hadn’t thought they could do this on their own. Maybe he was right. But then, they’d never actually tried either.

Gabriel drained the rest of his beer and set it on the table with a decisive click. “I need more alcohol for this,” he muttered, standing up. “You want something?”

Guest Review: Mr. May (Calendar Men #5) by Bailey Bradford

Derrick Tovar thought posing for a calendar would be the most adventurous thing he’d ever do—boy, was he wrong!

Derrick Tovar always played it safe. He had a secure job, a retirement plan, five and ten-year goals… When he agreed to pose in skimpy clothing for a charity calendar, he figured that was one daring, out of character opportunity for him to do. It wasn’t that big of a risk, really.

Except it almost got him killed.

He’s having a little trouble dealing with that, but he soon meets a man who makes him want to dream big and take chances.

Reviewer: Shee Reader

I am absolutely loving this series! It’s full of fun, quick reads. Derrick is such a steady guy, he sort of needs the little shake up Niall brings. Niall is a fox shifter with his own gourmet hotdog cart. Derrick and he connect immediately, but like all the books in the series, there are dark forces at work alongside the cute sexy romance.

Niall is a mischievous and adventurous man who is a perfect match for Derrick. Niall’s need to throw himself off high things (albeit with a bungee cord attached) don’t make any sense to Derrick, but does feed into his anxiety and nightmares. Being poisoned whilst on the charity photo shoot has left physical and mental scars that Derrick is unable to fix by himself. Cue sexy little adventurer Niall…

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The bad guys are bad, and the good guys are adorable.

Synopsis

After a breakup, Erron Murfin finds himself broken, homeless, and destitute. The chance to become the Santa Claus's new cook is a beacon he can’t ignore.

The new position allows him to work under Gamin Rockwell, the man who helped raise him until he disappeared when Erron turned nineteen—well over a decade ago. While the two make up for lost time, Erron catches the eyes of many crewmen as well as James and Barrus, a married pair with real intentions who are determined to draw the cautious new arrival into their relationship.

Even as he stitches together his ability to see a future for himself, Gamin's history and personal issues begin to surface. Secrets bubble out in ways Erron can't ignore and he finds himself with a mystery he needs to solve.

Because there’s something about Gamin that goes far deeper than the fatherly role he once held in Erron’s life so long ago.

Excerpt

Erron looked down at the synthesized protein masquerading as eggs on his plate. How this diner justified serving this travesty was beyond him. Even the smell was wrong. It was nothing like the meal he had eaten during his interview yesterday. He picked at the unyielding rubber surface with his utensil and promptly set it down on the table. There was no way he was eating this. The triangle of toast was passable. At least they had real bread. It wasn’t helping to settle his stomach, though, because his nerves were so on edge.

This diner in the spaceport was close to the Santa Claus’s landing bay. It was really the only reason he had chosen it. It certainly wasn’t for the four-star cuisine. At least from his seat, the anti-grav pallet was visible, holding the crates with all his worldly possessions. Erron had packed as soon as he’d returned to his room the day before. When he’d realized he couldn’t sleep worth a damn, he had given up trying. Now he had time to burn before his appointment. He wasn’t sure if showing up too early was good or not. He didn’t want to seem too eager.

Captain Danverse had told him he’d meet with his security chief for his indoctrination. There was a ship tour, procedures to go over, and a work contract to sign. Two years off planet wasn’t really so long. From what he’d researched, most crew members extended their contracts multiple times, so the Santa Claus couldn’t be that bad. On the plus side, he’d be allowed to cook for others again. That might make up for most shortcomings. Erron was fairly confident he was doing the right thing. Fairly.

It wasn’t as if he had much choice. He needed the job. When the server brought the bill for his breakfast—rather than call it a travesty—he cringed when he pressed his finger to the DNA ID scanner. If there hadn’t been enough credits in his account, he would have been in trouble.

He didn’t know why he continued to sip at the bitter, burned coffee. It certainly wasn’t doing his stomach any favors. The diner was stocked with a fair number of customers. Apparently, being cheap overrode the food quality in this establishment. Erron mentally kicked himself. Being a food snob was one thing, but being an elitist ass was something else. These people probably hadn’t spent three months living in shitty hotels.

The patrons seemed mostly working class, enjoying their breakfasts. No doubt some were station regulars, who chatted with the servers and cook with a family-like familiarity. A warm camaraderie filled the place and that made Erron smaller somehow. What he wouldn’t give to belong somewhere. He’d lost that when Toby hadn’t even fought for him as he was fired and evicted.

It wasn’t fair. Erron thought he’d had everything: a loving partner, a job he excelled at, and a promising future. All of it scrubbed away without so much as an acknowledgement of regret on Toby’s part. A young man and woman walked into the diner and sat at the counter, holding hands the entire time. The ache in his chest twisted deeper. Fucking heteros.

The coffee had long since gone cold, but somehow it tasted better that way, so he waved off the server when she tried to refill the mug. Erron looked at the time glowing in amber numbers on the wall. An hour more, then he’d start his new life.

The door hissed open as an older woman in filthy, tattered clothes shuffled into the diner. The staff ignored her from the moment she stepped across the threshold. Perhaps they knew better than to engage her. Erron was about to follow their example when her gray stare suddenly bore down on him.

With a stern purpose, she strode over to his table. Erron startled when she clamped her dirty hand on his wrist. He pulled back slightly, but her grip was firmer than he expected.

“You’ve lost someone very close to you.” Her voice was raspy, and Erron couldn’t help but look into her glassy eyes.

“That’s a little vague.”

“You’re about to travel a great distance.” She continued to speak as if she was barely aware of his response.

Erron’s brow furrowed. “I am in a spaceport.”

“Someone will be on board that you thought you’d lost long ago.”

Surprise froze Erron in his seat. Gamin was on board. It had been years since they’d laid eyes on one another. Part of the gnawing at his gut was whether Gamin would be happy to see him or not. Erron had given up a long time ago asking his mother about what happened between them. She took the story to her grave. He loved his mother and missed her, but he’d never completely forgiven her for it either.

“You think you’ve lost the ability to love another, but you’ll find it on board once again.”

Words refused to form when Erron opened his mouth. A psi on this side of the galaxy? He’d never met one before. Para-humans were few and far between. What were the chances she was telling him his future? She stood silent as he pondered. It wasn’t so much that he believed her. Deep down, he just really wanted to.

“Do you see anything else?” Erron’s response was timid and quiet.

Her rough voice managed to coo. “Of course, child. It’ll cost you ten credits.”

Review: Striking Sparks by Ari McKay

The stakes are high and the heat is on.

Beau Walker, owner of the Barbecue Shack, needs the help of Jake Parnell, his one-time rival and secret crush, in a televised barbecue competition. Beau is a proud man, but the stakes are high, and smart, sexy Jake is his only hope, even if being around Jake reawakens the attraction he’s fought for years.

Jake left his hometown, determined to build a life somewhere his sexuality wouldn’t hurt his family’s restaurant business—and far away from hunky, obstinate Beau Walker. Then his twin, Josh, is killed, and Jake returns to support his brother’s wife and children. Despite his reservations, he agrees to go head-to-head against Beau on national television. Between stress and grief, as well as pride and determination, only one thing is certain—the heat between Beau and Jake extends well beyond the kitchen.

Okay, now this is so the kind of story that makes me happy. Enemies to friends to lovers with unrequited love just warms my heart and that is what Striking Sparks has to offer.

You don’t have to be friends to feel sparks...
Jake Parnell is one hell of a good guy. He has come back to Buffalo Lick, Texas after leaving 10 years ago to pursue an education and a life in Southern California. He’s done well finding a teaching job at a private school he loves while going for his doctorate. When the unthinkable happens, when his twin Josh - who stayed in their home town to run the family business, Parnell’s Pantry and who was married with 2.5 kids - gets in a car accident and dies, Jake returns home to do the honorable thing and help everyone out.

But Jake, while he was comfortable in California, he has reasons for not welcoming his own homecoming because he is not out in Texas. The only people that know Jake is gay is his immediate family and Beau Walker, his high school rival and the boy he crushed on for far too long. A crush really, that is so deep rooted, you might mistake it for disdain. A disdain that needs an overhaul because Jake finds out Josh was signed up to do a reality show with the Pantry againsy Beau’s Barbeque Shack and well that just means the two rivals are gonna be all up in each other’s spaces for some time.

It was strange that it had taken Beau Walker, of all people, to provoke a positive change before Jake burned himself out completely.

GAH! I really liked both Jake and Beau upon first meeting. I loved that they still fancy one another but neither of them wants to do anything about it. Well, they would if they could leave the past in the past and truly see the men they have become. The story Trisha tells Beau about Jake and prom made me so happy and then his flashback to the realization both he and Jake had was bitter sweet. But Beau, he is one hell of a good guy as well and he is there for Jake when he needs it, even if Jake swears he doesn’t.

Maybe if you kick my ass in the final round, you can spank it afterward.

The setting of the Gourmet Network barbecue cook-off, hosted by Chef Shane Brody and assisted by his husband Richard, was great to show off just who Jake and Beau are now. Jake’s confidence in his cooking was boosted by the attention of Chef Shane and Richard is just the person Jake needs to give him confidence in being who he is along with the rumor mill of the townsfolk in Buffalo Lick. The men, need a chance to really get to know one another and the competition gives them the ability. I have to say, when both Jake and Beau let down their guards and decide to try each other out, they get damn adorable and their flirting was a blast to read.

The relationship moves a bit quick but not so much if you consider they have known one another since high school and the hidden feelings they had haven’t gone away. They are just waiting for a chance, the change of heart to appear so they can move forward with what they really want and what they really want is one another. And really, they have waited long enough.

God, I feel like I’ve wanted you my whole life. You wouldn’t believe the crazy daydreams I came up with as a teenager about how it would be with you.

The supporting characters of the Parnells, the Walkers and the people running the show were all great additions to the story. I loved how Jake thought he had folks fooled but even his mama knew the truth and Beau’s family are so willing to help out when folks need it they melted my heart. Lexy was a strong woman, mother, sister in law and supporter of Jake’s happiness that I couldn’t help but like her and grieve for her as a widow. Really, everything in this made for a lovey read.

I have a tendency to ramble when it comes to this series because it’s so damn good and just the right amount of romance I crave. It’s perfect, it’s sexy, it’s funny at times with riding the line of cheesy but when you’re in love; you get to be silly with the one person that accepts you completely. Am I right?

Striking Sparks was my first book from this writing pair and it won't be my last. If they can make this vegan smile while reading about flesh cooking on grills, they’ve won me over. Jake and Beau were a wonderful couple and I am all for them not wasting any more of the time they have with one another.

And Everything Nice by Ada Maria Soto

I can't tell you how many times I've read a story where the characters are off eating something super delicious and I'm stuck raiding the pantry, because, dammit! They're eating cake for dessert and I really want some too! Instead, I have to make due with Oreo's.

If you're anything like me, this anthology is for you. I won't give you that slice of ooey gooey chocolate cake I now have you craving, but it will give you the recipe to make it! Or something equally as delicious, as each amuse-bouche ends with a recipe that was featured in the story.

The Cake by Ann Marie James 3 stars

Poor Kirk is not good in the Kitchen. After 10 rounds with disastrous cake meant for his niece's birthday, he concedes the fact that he needs help. And STAT. He calls Eric; neighbor, birthday cake maker extraordinaire, and father of Kirk's niece's best friend, to help rescue the birthday. Together, they'll save the party, and find out that the crush they have for one another isn't just one sided.

The result is a cute and humorous story ending at the beginning of their relationship.

A short and promising story that's a nice start to the anthology.

All is Well by Dale Cameron Lowry 4.25stars

Elder Pratt is an amazing cook, and any young man on their mission in the Mormon faith knows they're extremely lucky to be paired with him. Tanner especially, who not only gets along great with Elder Pratt, but happens to think he's exceptionally handsome as well. Tanner knows that in the Mormon faith there are big consequences to loving a man, but he can't change the ever growing feelings he has towards his Mission partner. Somehow they're both going to have to reconcile their faith and their feelings, and see if there's a future for them when their mission ends.

This was a little more religious than I was expecting, but it managed to not come across as preachy in any way. What it was, was a slow burning and sweet romance. It gets a wrapped up and somewhat rushed ending, but a well deserved HEA for our adorable Mormons. A well written and easy read.

Another Saturn Monday by R.A. Thorn 4 stars

Ugh! Saturn traffic is the worst! Routinely stranded at the space station where he works, due to traffic delays, Theo has time to spare, and when hunger gets the best of him, he'll give the Hirculian food stall a shot. It's cabbage, so it's going to be hard to choke down, but the beautiful face serving him helps make it a bit better. Where Theo is shy, Ekain is endearing, and a flirtatious rapport develops between the two. Just when Theo gets the courage to ask Ekain out on a date, a misunderstanding happens, and he thinks he's lost his shot with the handsome Hirculian. When he ends up staying at the station overnight due to a cancelled flight out, it's Ekain that comes to his rescue.

I might not be a fan of cabbage, but I am of this story, that's both cute and entertaining. I wanted to read more, and see how their night ended *waggles eyebrows* but it ended on a promising note all the same.

Theo's opinions on cabbage alone, make it worth the read.

Man of Steel by Rob Rosen 3 stars

Scott is a self proclaimed foodie. At the prospect of a new restaurant opening up, he's stalking the windows, hoping to get a glimpse of what type of cuisine will be offered. When he meets Monty, the restaurant owner, he discovers that maybe he hasn't tried every food that there is. Jewish is certainly something he's never even heard of (Ha! And he calls himself a foodie!) but with Monty's encouragement, he returns on opening day to see what the fuss is about. Together, he and Monty will make their way through the very large sample platter, and Monty will invite Scott back after closing for some "dessert".

The title comes from Monty's good looks, since not only can he cook, but he looks like Clark Kent.

*sighs* If only I had that man in my kitchen.

It's a cute, short story. Not much happens in it, but it did leave me wanting some Apple Kuchen.

Breakfast at Timothy's by T.J. Masters 4 stars

Someone's got the hots for teacher!

I'm not going to lie, this one was a bit strange. But then again, so was Professor Timothy Shaw, who answers questions with more questions, and is notorious for his breakfast meetings. When Connor meets him to ask him to be his PhD supervisor, he expected a fantastic breakfast meal, but he didn't expect the meeting to end without talk of his school work. Or an invite back for breakfast the next day. More days pass and there's still no talk of whether the Professor will take Connor's request, but there is an underlying current that Connor can't put his finger on.

Professor Shaw can't possibly be hitting on him, can he?

It's bad enough he has the hots for teacher, he doesn't know what he'll do if it's reciprocated.

Timothy's seduction is a bit strange, but overall, this was a really entertaining read.

Probably the best thing that came from this story is Connor's life motto:

“Limits are for testing, boundaries are for crossing... Earth is for exploring and life is for living.”

On a side note, I could totally go for some french toast right now...

A Second Season by Tali Segal 4 stars

The smell of apple cider is amazing right? On a cold/crisp day, there's nothing better, and that smell is what hits Chris the moment he walks into the kitchen of Maple Creek Bed & Breakfast. He may have just recently lost his job writing reviews for restaurants, but once a foodie, always a foodie, and Drew's B&B has everything that brings the feeling of childhood joy to the forefront. It's no surprise that he's going to do what he can to help Drew save his floundering business, and it just so happens that there's a sizzling chemistry between the two that offers even more incentive to help the man out. They knew each other in high school, and where they didn't have the chance to explore their feelings then, now they have all the time in the world, if, Drew can accept Chris's help and Chris decides to take a leap of faith in the life department.

Sweet and spicy, just like apple cider, this story was warm and cozy, with a promising ending, and two characters I would love to read more about.

Kneading You by C.S. Poe 4 stars

Moving from the big city to a small town brings it's own set of challenges, but Chris is up to the task and looking forward to it. However, he's about to take on his biggest challenge yet - he has to save a library by bring it up to modern standards, but do it with a budget much smaller than the one he needs. Despite the fact that there are some people in the town who can't wait for him to fail, he has a few allies, and one of them is the sexy, tattooed handyman, helping out with the library repairs.

Miles is a man of mystery to most people, but not to Chris, who sees beyond the taciturn, to the man with the quiet smiles, who loves to bake, and who expresses himself through actions.

Chris is smitten, and so was I. These two are just so cute together and I would love to see more of them. This is a sweet and sexy read, where Miles will bake up a miracle for his librarian, and you'll be left with that warm feeling of community, and almost smelling the scent of freshly baked bread.

If You Give an Incubus a Cookie by Ki Brightly 4.25 stars

Poor Hal is cursed to live his immortal life stealing a little life from his sexual partners. He tries to lessen the guilt of what he is, by choosing men whose shortened life wouldn't be such a bad thing, but the weight of what he is still weighs heavily on him. His one bright spot in his day is the stunning man who sells cookies out of his mobile cookie truck. Porter has his own secret. Where Hal takes life, Porter is brimming with it. He gives life to the plants around him, and his home looks like his own personal rainforest. Winter in Pennsylvania is hard enough, but for a creature like him, it's an ansty horrible feeling of excess energy with no outlet.

When Porter asks Hal out for a date on Valentine's day, Hal is quick to say no. He's not about to ruin the one good thing in his life, but things will work out for these two in the most delicious way.

It was great to see Hal get his much deserved HEA, and Porter's reaction to Hal was all sorts of wonderful. This story is as warm and gooey as a chocolate chip cookie, and as spicy as Porter's curry. I really wanted to read more of them together, and was really hoping there was a teeny tiny epilogue in there. A definite re-read for me in the future.

Moon Cakes by T. Neilson 3 stars

What once started as a joke, has now become an internet sensation, as Connor bares his buns weekly on his cooking show. Wearing nothing but an apron (where do I subscribe?!) he prepares a recipe dish for the public, on his web show, Bitch, Peas.

What used to be fun, is now more of a chore, and he's pretty burnt out on it, and with life really. He's looking to be happy in more than just his career choice, and a date with Reuben from a dating app may change all of that for him.

Reuben is more than just a date, he's also the man who's been posting revisions of Connor's recipes on the Bitch, Peas forms. And he's also has a wealth of wisdom that Connor might not want to hear, but needs to.

Reuben is going to give Connor some food for thought about where his priorities really should lay, and how to get on track to being happy again.

This is a low/no steam story that's still entertaining. It's an easy read and well written. Bonus points for the best dog name I've heard in awhile: Biscuit 'N Gravy ;)

Tortilla Pie by Rick R. Reed 2 stars

Josh volunteers his weekends cooking meals for TeenCare, a homeless shelter reaching out to the homeless 21 and under. It's rewarding work, and Josh is all too aware that he has to maintain his boundaries. Getting friendly with any of the kids could mean the end of his work there. But there's something about Anderson's eyes and smile that leaves Josh with butterflies. Anderson is on his last night at the shelter; come the next day he'll be 21. He decides to take a leap of faith and pursue something with Josh. It's difficult to cross his own rules and boundaries, and try for a relationship with someone who has a home, and comes from a different place than he does, but he wants to give it a shot.

The result is a sweet story with the beginning of a blossoming relationship.

The rating of this story is completely on me. I couldn't connect to it, probably because there were too many asides in the narration. I also found it a bit too cliche and too clinical. Sometimes it read like a how-to/how-to-not manual, instead of a story that breached the economic and racial divide.

Taste of the Forest, Dark and Sweet by Charles Payseur 4.5 stars

Bastian has the hots for his line chef, Colin, but doesn't have the time to contemplate action before things take a turn for the weird. After tasting a sauce Colin was secretly working on, Bastian finds himself in a weird dream where the forest is large and dark, and there's a house made from a tree. Inside he sees Colin, and has a moment to wonder why Colin isn't naked, after all, this is his dream. Colin should be naked.

But it's not a dream. And now rules have been broken. This is a world Bastian knows nothing about, but Colin does, so he removes himself from memory and the mortal world.

With the taste of the sauce still fresh in his mind, Colin finds his culinary muse again, but the memory of Colin teases his periphery. He sets out to find him, and hopefully show him that sharing what you love, and cooking up a bit of magic, might be worth breaking the rules.

Taste of the Forest was a delightful urban fantasy that read longer than it was, and has a recipe that I really want to try. It might be a little confusing at first, but completely worth the read. I loved this story, and thought it had the perfect ending.

Operation Wild Thumb by Tray Ellis 3 stars

Heath loves to garden, but a rogue Zucchini patch run riot leaves he and his sister wondering what on earth to do with so many vegetables. Deciding that the best plan of action is a practical joke on the neighborhood, he and his sister set off to leave the crops on neighborhood doorsteps, only to be caught by hunky neighbor, Alex. Alex tags along on the joke, and soon it's full steam ahead for the two men. Like literally. It was a bit distracting, really. These two guys go from "Hi! Nice to meet you!" to "Hello! kitchen floor!" in like an hour, tops.

The story itself was sweet and humorous, and even a little steamy, but Heath and Alex were a little difficult to wrap my head around.

I'm also a little disappointed that we didn't get to see the result of the prank played on the neighborhood.

And Everything Nice by Ada Maria Soto 4.5 stars

For seven months, Angelo has tried to seduce Simon with decadent pastries and desserts, only to have Simon refuse to try even a nibble. Who could say no to Angelo's baking? There have been sexual harassment seminars held because of what people have been willing to do to get a slice. Angelo refuses to believe that Simon doesn't want to taste his cake, but he doesn't have the courage to ask him out without pastry somehow being involved. He's always used it as an icebreaker in the past, and without it, he's left stammering and grasping (and missing) opportunities to ask Simon out.

Poor Simon and dessert are not on speaking terms. Between his gluten allergy, dairy and egg allergy, soy allergy, artificial sweetener aversion, (and you don't even want to know what happens if he eats banana)... dessert just isn't in the cards. But Angelo isn't about to give up and is determined to bake him the best brownie possible for his birthday.

The result is a very adorable, slow burning romance, that completely won my heart. Seriously smile inducing, this was my favorite read of the anthology.

... Even though the MC said he was only good at three things, and sex was one of them.

And he clearly had sex, and I wasn't invited.

I mean, it was good, even without the sex, but pervy minds want to know.

Whatever.

#imnotbitter.

It was the perfect story to end this anthology, that was a delight to read.

Are you hungry yet? Because I know I am.

Sugar and spice, and everything sweet, sexy and downright entertaining in this food based anthology that's more than just nice. There's a little something for everyone and helpful little recipes along the way.

Highly recommended!
