SYNOPSIS
What if werewolves were real?
What if one of them was different?
What if you were a defective werewolf?
This is not the story of how one night I got bitten and my life changed. Nor is it the story of how I went on a savage killing spree that left me tormented with guilt and dread the next morning.
No.
This is the story of a boy, a boy who’s spent his life running from the shadows of monsters. A boy who never understood why the world hated him with so much odium. Why his mother would throw away her only life to protect his. Why he was never allowed to have friends. Why he never had the childhood every child should. Why he was never allowed to cherish happiness.
This is the story of a boy becoming himself, embracing his vulnerability and learning to accept and love.
This is a story about a werewolf, trying to find the answers to why he was born defective.
And maybe that’s the very reason I become the main course on the menu.

EXCERPT
A lycan’s sexual orientation was a completely nonproblematic topic. Most lycans, before meeting and knowing the gender of their mates, tended to be bisexual, however, there were the few cases, as with Leo, where a lycan knew beforehand what gender they were drawn to. And, luckily, the mating call was never cruel in that regard.

Contrary to how prejudice and discriminatory the Council and lycan community’s views on females were, homosexuality had never fazed the lycan race. It was part of their ancestry, as natural and accepting as bleeding.

“Go,”she growled at him, “before you shatter my stoic façade and have me in tears. I’m honored to know this beautiful thing is happening in my presence.”

Leo smiled, turned, and ascended the stairs, his grin fading as he neared the bathroom the Beta occupied.

He clutched the doorknob, squeezing his eyelids and drawing in a shaky breath, willing himself to calm down.

The knob ripped from under Leo’s grasp as the door swung open, the momentum of Cooler’s movements and of Leo’s stumble at the abrupt occurrence, sent them colliding into each other.

Cooler grabbed Leo by the throat and shoved him against the bathroom wall, his one eye glowing a furious blue fire as he glared up at him.

“If the pretty puppy wanted a kiss, all he had to do was whimper.”

Leo swallowed against the clutched grip squeezing his windpipe, any response stuck in his throat. Cooler leaned in close, released Leo’s neck, and cupped the back of his head, pulling him down before sealing their lips together.

Fire screamed through him, heat gnawed to the tips of Leo’s fingertips and toes as Cooler wrenched open Leo’s lips with nip of his teeth, shoving his fat tongue into Leo’s mouth…

No one said a lycan claiming his mate was a pretty event.

The kiss that followed was a soft and gentle devastation of sweet hunger.

Cooler’s lips were pure lightning against Leo’s, every hair on his body pulsated to attention. His growl simmered through their mouths, giving Leo ample knowledge of how much power resided within his mate, the vibration, a thunder, rattled him to his soul.

He didn’t dare touch Cooler. Just because they were sucking lips, didn’t mean the Beta had accepted Leo as his.

Cooler pulled back, his eye a bone-chilling dark as he glared up into Leo’s gaze.

Fat fingers slid from behind Leo’s neck, mapping their way along his cheek to brush over his lips, only to catch him by the chin.

Leo closed his eyes, both needing and dreading the words about to spill from his mate.

But time stretched, and it stretched, and it stretched as he waited.

His lips moved involuntarily, quivering, ready to speak, but only a whimper undulated through him. Cooler grunted, halting Leo’s tongue and washing hot air up into Leo’s face, reminding him of how close the Beta’s lips were to his own.

His insides squirmed, anticipating, hoping and wanting Cooler to bless him with another taste.

No kiss came, no words either. Only the scent of his mate. A spicy, intoxicating, rugged musk. Prime Bloods tended to have a heavier, far more domineering scent than half-breeds. That and, of course, the raw power they emanated were the only physical truths that set them apart.

AUTHOR VISIT

I want to thank everyone from Boy Meets Boy Reviews for this opportunity for a guest post on their blog.

I’m so happy to be here! Seriously, thank you guys.

I wanted to touch today on something a little different, a view into my chaotic mind and why at times my writing tend to be a little (or very confusing) to some readers.

Most readers who has stuck with me since my first book and every other book thereafter, knows my writing style by now. It's different than most native English speaking authors’, and that’s not only due to me having a foreign language as my primary language, but also how I’ve been taught to write and read. (See what I did there at the end, I’ll come back to this in a bit.)

Now some might ask how, what does having a foreign first language (mother tongue) have to do with English. English is English you say? Sure there is differences in American English vs British English. But all grammar rules should still apply!

And this is still true.

Let touch on the bit I had there in brackets up above. I suffer from dyslexia; it was never addressed during my upbringing because of the way things were seen almost 20 years ago in South African households. In South Africa it was brushed off and hoped upon that by working hard and doing well in school, dyslexia would just weed itself out, in and through school. It didn’t, not for me at least, thus, sometimes, I switch my words around. Normally one would say “read and write,” it’s easier on the mind’s tongue and flows better. It was worse in the past, I use to confuse my left and right, my b with d’s and vice versa. I tended to learn easier via visual examples, demonstrations, experimentation, and observation. You couldn't just throw a book at me and tell me to learn what was written there, I’d be bored in the first five min.

This changed how I perceived the world, and eventually how my thought process worked.

This surely influenced how I write.

Now let's bring in the language, being a native Afrikaans boere boy, I tend to think in Afrikaans first then translate it into English and that can caused a bit of a train smash. See, sometimes in the Afrikaans language things tend to be backwards, especially in more complex sentences, we have different verb order and make use of double negatives.

Here’s a quick e.g.
(1)
Afrikaans: Môre werk ek in die skool.

English: I will be working at the school tomorrow.

Lit. translation: Tomorrow work I in the school.

Wulfy’s translation: Tomorrow, I’ll be working at the school.

(2)
Afrikaans: Hy het gesê, dat hy dit gedoen het.

English: He said that he did it.

Lit. translation: He has said, that he it did has.

Wulfy’s translation: He had said, that he had done it.

But it’s not only the grammatical and sentence structure differences that plays a part in my writing, it’s the language itself and how it shaped my perspective of thinking. For primarily English speakers, readers and writers, this can be a difficult concept to grasp. But this is prevalent to all languages. The tongue we speak shape our perspective of thinking. Our very langue defines so much about our thought process, how we solve problems, and how we view and perceive the world around us.

To learn more about this topic, which is extremely fascinating and interesting as Lera Boroditsky explains it, take a look at his video: https://www.ted.com/talks/lera_boroditsky_how_language_shapes_the_way_we_think#t-422148

So what does this have to do with my first chapters being confusing, I use a lot of figurative writing and undertone. (please, this is by no means a “how to read my (wulfy’s) books,” this is merely a view into how my mind and writing works.)

I’ll take two examples here from two of my works. (Please note; prologues don’t apply here.)

The first thing to note is how much thought goes into my opening line. I believe personally, and I feel that my opening line should be able to sum up my entire story within that line.

E.g. 1) Of Gods and Monsters: Komainu.

“A pitch-black pit lay in front of him, reaching through the darkness to pull him down into its depths.”

Let’s interpret this.

We know this is Hades.

Pitch-black; a darkness, this could be PTSD, depression, some unwanted predicament or struggle he needs to face that’s lying ahead of him. It might have happened already, or may still come to pass.

Pit; aka a hole, empty and vast, the unknown, uncertainty yet inevitable in its existence.

Reaching through the darkness: what is reaching? We don’t know yet, but it has darkness at its core, death maybe? A dark state of mind, uncertainty of the future? Past sins reaching, catching up with him? Darkness; bad, dismay, wickedness, evil.

To pull him down: inevitable, something is definitely coming or will come, falling to one's own darkness, down aka depressed.

Depths: note here how the word is plural, we don’t know how deep it is, how many levels of darkness there are, again the unknown and darkness comes into play.

By this short sentence we can gather that some of the prominent themes throughout the story will be darkness, the unknown, sinking in, pulled down, becoming one’s own darkness.

For those who have read Komainu now knows how the story goes, knows how these themes play into each other and what the ultimate outcome is.

E.g. 2) The Wulf Chronicles.

“I was going to die.”

We know this is the protagonist speaking by it being in first person point of view. He’s going to die? Well, we can’t really tell because this is past tense with the word ‘was’. Is he being over dramatic? Maybe he’s a teenage, cause they tend to be way over dramatic at times. But die, death? Why is he going to, or believe that he is going to die. Death also insinuates fear. Now for those who have read The Wulf Chronicles know Fear and Death are two major recurring themes with in this story.

Why do I do this then? Because it's what I grew up on, Afrikaans literature is riddled with undertones, we are taught to dissect an entire prescribed book and fish out its deeper meanings. Afrikaners tend to write and tell stories very metaphorically and colorfully, making use of figurative symbols, double negatives, litotes, oxymoron, personification, hyperbole and poetry, to name a few.

However creative this can be, it can also hinder clarity sometimes. Another reason I do this is for readers to slow down and pay attention to what they are reader. More often than not, we tend to complete a sentence we read in our minds, before our eyes had even reach the last word.

So there you have it a small insight into how my brain word words.

They come to me in the night, creeping into my head. Their voices are all different, their stories all dissimilar, but they keep saying the same thing...
“Show us, tell us to the world. Bring us into yours, and make us known.”

Then I sit and they take over. They tell their tales of love, loss and sinister misfortune, not all of them get a happy ending, but they are pleased when their part is written.
I sometimes find myself lost in my own mind; a world very similar to our own yet so different. Things don't go bump in the night—they squeal, and crawl under your skin, making you grind your teeth, and your stomach turn over and put your nerves on edge. Then there's the drama. Oh, the drama!
I write because I must! There is so much inside of me that needs to get out. So many stories to tell, characters that want to be heard, and hearts lost and won. Words and art are my way of bringing my world to others. I enjoy telling tales of the human condition but working in elements of the supernatural. Werewolves, Vampires, Zombies, Witches and the unexplainable all set against the human world or worlds of their own.

Hades

His innocence was the fire that blighted the deepest dark, but even he can't save the King from a past stained so black, the devil won't even touch it.

Years creep up on you, like a rotting hand: cold and wet, it will drag you down into your grave.

Life will hand you eternity only to rip it away from you.

Love will slaughter you in the most beautiful way and still manage to nail you in the ass, bareback, when you see him choose the heart of another man.

But Death... He is a patient soul. He waits, and he waits, and he waits.

'Cause the bastard knows he will always have the last laugh when he knocks at the door.

Kemono

Memories were all I had, all I had clung to as my heart turned to stone and finally to dust.

Now he is mine and I will hold him, and I will kiss him. We will dance and we will laugh, and we will cry... We will be human together...

I did not know heaven until I knew him.

There is no greater power that can tear and rip your world apart as when their lips finally kiss yours again.

But being human comes at a fatal price.

Sometimes you have to let go of the hand you hold onto so tightly that it brought pain, because that is the only way you can save them from Death.

Rex

Why did she take them away, hand them back, then force me to choose?

Is love really that cruel, that she would enjoy tormenting you as you watch the two men you love with your whole heart, kill each other...?

And then, my worst fear, my deepest darkest nightmare became a living breathing thing.

Death had come to take from us what we could never replace.

3.25 Hearts average

Chelsea - 3 Hearts

This was as dark and gritty as you'd expect it to be. If you can get through the first chapter full of very descriptive torture the rest of the book will be smooth sailing.

I was sooooo anticipating this release. After the build up and damn cliffhanger of the last book I was dying for this book!! Did it live up to those expectations? Yes and no.

If I am being honest, I was really looking forward to some threesome action! And it took a long time to get there, but when it did, it was everything I wanted.

The sex was super dirty and primal but there was that underlying emotion and possessiveness to everything these three did together. I loved Komanu, he seemed so essential to the threesome even though Hades and Rex worked so well in the previous book. There dynamics worked really well. Now if this threesome perfection formed 80% of the book not 30%, I would have given this 4 or 5 hearts easily, but it was not to be.

In the foreword Wulf warns us that our heart will be ripped out, and it was, and not in a good way. The ending felt a little unnecessary and not necessarily the death, that I'm sure lots of people know about, but what happened after it. The epilogue was super depressing and not in a, 'this is sad but there is hope' or, ‘my heart is breaking but this is beautiful’ more a, 'holy fuck, how did it come to this?!?’ kind of way. I mean I do not expect hearts and rainbows in these stories, but something similar to….affection… or hope would be nice.

The writing was also a bit too choppy for me, but I know that's Wulf's style. I was a bit lost with who was who and what relationship everyone had and the time frame… generally I was a bit lost throughout the entire story, which isn't a good thing.

The ending was a bit too much for me to rate this highly, but the time these three had together was just what I wanted!

Fantasy Living - 3.5 Hearts

If you have not read Hades then you will need to stop reading this and go and read that first. This is the second installment and background is required. This story starts off a few weeks from the end of Hades, and he is caught by the Russian’s.

Also required reading…. The dedication. Pay attention.
To the author…. I do not forgive you.

This story continues the brutality of the previous books, in language and action. It is rough, and you need thick skin and an iron stomach to read this. It is very dark. I would not recommend it to a newbie. It will definitely scar.

For those who enjoyed the other two books as I did, this will probably push your limits, as it did mine. I’m not a novice at dark stories. In fact I’ve read some pretty grungy stories over the last few years, but between the violent language and the torture in the intro, this maxed me out. It was one of those stories where I needed to take a few hours out from reading my next book to fully absorb everything I’d read and work through my feelings.

I will need to reserve judgment on whether I agree with how this story panned out. Obviously it is not up to me, on where the author’s characters take them, but to be honest, I am deeply unhappy with some of the plot. Obviously I was invested in the story enough to care what happened during it, so this is a mark in the story’s favour. But I am not pleased with the direction, and I will need a compelling reason to change my mind. I hope this is offered in the next book.

Hades and Kemono are both very alpha and they have very different relationships with Rex and each other. It is up to them to pave their own way, but first they need to find their boy who has been missing since Hades walked into the lion's den. Hades is even more disturbed in this story than he was previously, so of course there is a lot of drama.

The angst in this story is extreme, and there is no break. I don’t think there was any lightness to relieve the tension, and this made it a stressful read for me.

I did enjoy how Rex transformed. The extra layers and his side mission was a nice touch. It showed his independence and his willingness to survive devastating blows. I was more invested in him in this story than I was in Hades, and not just as Hades’ little.

This ends sort of on a cliffhanger, so people who hate that, be aware. I think enough of the story was resolved for this to be a ‘next stage’ ending, where the story is left open, but you can use your imagination to extrapolate what will happen in the future.

If you enjoy brutal and dark, then enjoy. And when you’ve finished it, feel free to tell me all about how you feel, because I need to vent too.

Excerpt:

The meat-eater flexed his massive arms over his chest, making the flesh stand out, tattooed forearms riddled with angry muscles, cutting deep indents and protruding veins. Rex didn’t let his stare travel up nor down the dark hair flowing over the man’s hard stomach, to the patch sticking out over the white towel hanging too low around his beefy middle. And becoming looser as that bulge under the white grew. He snapped his gaze back to the beast’s chest, pinning his attention there. Rex swallowed, “I don’t have any other place to go.”

The goliath-monster-man stared at him. Rex had nothing—okay, he had some money, but how could the man stand and stare at Rex and be this cruel, this heartless?

“My eyes are up here, little boy!” the giant crowed, a deep barbarous sound making his chest rumble like an erupting super-volcano. “There’s going to be rules, till I decide where to put you up.” The colossus bounced forward and Rex couldn’t help stepping back, tripping over his own feet while he was at it.

“Careful.” Big hands caught him, and Rex wasn’t sure whether his heart was attempting to flop out of his chest because he had almost planted his face on the floor, or from the gentleness in the beast’s voice and hands holding him, or… he was so damn close to burnt caramel skin, radiating heat and warming his cheek. And he could smell him, hot and clean, dominated by sweaty musk.

Review: Of Gods and Monsters: Hades by Wulf Francu Godgluck

******WARNING*******
This is not a story about a hero, or some bad boy-badass-antihero.
This is a love story between two monstrous villains and one valiant kid, held together by their entwined heartstrings.
It won't be pretty.
It won't be pleasant.
There's no fluffy good feelings about it.
It will rip out your heart and never give it back.

Breno Hades el Oscuro took no bullshit from anyone. He ruled the crime world of the United States. When the King fell, what was left in the ashes was not the small boy that grew up without his father, not the same kid that chose a life of crime at seventeen, nor was it the King who had killed and clawed through a river of blood to stand at the top.

The King was dragged from his throne of bones into a deep dark pit, leaving only the raw flesh of a savage monster to crawl out of Hell.
One that knew love, but didn't want it again.

Kemono Orochi was destined to inherit the legacy of his father, known as The Dragon's Tongue. It was an inheritance he never wanted it, never desiring the power that came with the title of Dragon. Kemono ended it all by tearing off the Dragon's head, watching the serpent's remains be consumed in hellfire. Now tormented by the scars of his past inflicted by his father, he is struggling to come to terms with the Akuma he has become.

One that wants to devour everyone in his path to protect the only one that matters to him.

The only person that had ever made his icy heart beat.

His heart. His love. His beautiful pride.

Rex Hunter dreams of becoming a principal ballerino...all fierce, like a Phoenix. But this Phoenix has lost his wings and fallen prey, straight into the clutched claws and callus hands of two vicious beasts. Each bore the blackest of hearts, each desiring to keep him safe, cherished and loved unconditionally. Or was Rex just destined to be the goo that would stick two shattered souls together and prevent them from forever falling to pieces?

There will be blood, gore and nasty shit.

There will be watersports, crude, angry, sometimes sensual and other times just downright dirty and dysfunctional sex.

BUT...

There will always be LOVE...

Because even villains understand the tortured scars love leaves in its wake.

Hades is brutal and raw and intense. It's everything I love about biker stories. Big, badass biker was brought to his knees by falling in love. What better type of person to fall in love with you than someone as intense as Hades? Ha! Just kidding. But it definitely worked for Rex.

Hades was busted out of prison and went to his condo only to find it was occupied by a cute red head, Rex. Rex is the kid of one of his fallen brothers, so Hades certainly wasn't going to kick the boy out. They just had to cohab until they could figure something out. Or start fucking. Whichever came first.

Spoiler alert: The fucking came first.

Hades was still in love and hurting over his first love, Beo. He didn't think there was anyone else out there to love him for the way he was, both the mental and physical ugliness he felt he had. So, Rex being interested in him was a bit of a shock for Hades, but he was going to hold onto him for all it was worth, while it lasted.
"Even if it is for this short intense moment, this rare breath of life."
Aww! He really was just a big marshmallow. A scary, overbearing, slightly insane marshmallow... but a little fluffy on the inside, nonetheless.

Hades and his little Rex had some Daddy kink and it was hottttt. Their sex was just as intense as Hades was. Hades wanted to pleasure his boy and he made sure to do just that. Hades didn't care about stereotypes, he didn't care that he was gay and he didn't care what anyone else thought. He was going to do what felt good.
"'You feel good inside Daddy, little lion,' Hades whispered and bit Rex's lip. 'Now fuck Daddy's hole.'"
*THUD*

For reals, this is the kind of dirty talk they had all the time. If that's dirty and wrong, I don't want to be right. Because damn

I will say the dialogue is something to get used to. There's a lot of "baby butter" and "fuckpecker" and "pussy hole". It was over the top and redundant, but I was expecting that after reading the first book. If you liked book 1, then you'll be fine with Hades.

I would have liked to get to know Rex more. I felt disconnected from his character. As much as I loved Hades, I don't feel like I know Rex at all. I'm not sure what motivated him to want to be in a Daddy-type of relationship with Hades. I felt his attraction and their connection, but I wanted more from his character.

It was good. I can't wait for book 3, especially since we're left on a cliffhanger. But especially, especially because I'm seeing the name Komainu being thrown around.

Review: Neon White: Episode 3 by Wulf Francu Godgluck

This is going to be a bloody shit day.
The Alpha is missing, for one thing. Raven's partner Jessy is still struggling to deal with his death. Finding out that his body is missing from the morgue is a big enough shock, so what happens next is going to be unbelievable...
Especially for Raven.

So, book 3 (or episode 3) picks up after the 2nd book.
Installments like this are hard for me because I like to read something in one sitting and get the entire story. That being said, it's definitely a gripping series.
I'm going to try to review this without giving away spoilers for this book. No promises about book 2 spoilers.

So after the death of Raven in book 2 I was like, "Well, he ain't dead" because that wouldn't really make this a very good romance, just killing off people. Haha.
Anyway, I think the character development in this short is really good.
Not everything is as it seems and there are definitely twists and turns around every corner that will keep you guessing, and sometimes confused. That being said, I think I took away one of the stars because, if you haven't read all the books IMMEDIATELY prior this this one, you forget who's who, who's with who, all the bazaar names, and what's happening. So, in order to read this episode, I had to re-read the first two. Which isn't a bad thing, but I had to do that for book 2 as well, and it's just kind of annoying having to re-read things just to remember what's going on. But then again, it IS a serial, so if your attention span is better than mine (likely), it's probably not an issue.

I still don't like Jessy. I think she's a jerk. But I see what purpose she has in the story. Doesn't mean I like her. And where the hell is Seth now? Seriously, a lot of drama in these stories and it keeps you so hooked. The last seen in the book... *shivers*

I must admit, this story is great in the way of tension. Lots of excitement and tension between, well, almost all the characters. Some of it is uber sexy, too. The sexy parts are definitely worth reading this series for.

The writing is even better in this episode than the other two. Still some grammar issues. I think that the series, once complete, should get a full re-edit.

All in all, great series! I would definitely recommend reading all three of the first books at once, though. It would really help with characterization and plot. But still, I get why the cliffhangers are so exciting!

ps. This totally ended with a big cliffhanger.

Cover & Blurb:

******WARNING*******

This is not a story about a hero, or some bad boy-badass-antihero.

This is a love story of two monstrous villains and one valiant kid, held together by their entwined heartstrings.
It won't be pretty.
It won't be pleasant.
There's no fluffy good feelings about it.
It will rip out your heart and never give it back.

Breno Hades el Oscuro was never a man that took bullshit from anyone. He ruled the crime world of the United States. But the King fell. What was left in the ashes was not the small boy that grew up without his father, not the same kid that chose a life of crime at seventeen, or for that matter the King that clawed through a river of blood to stand at the top.

When the King was dragged from his throne of bones into deep dark pit, it was only the raw flesh of a savage monster that remained and crawled out of Hell.

One that knew love, but didn't want it again.

Kemono Orochi was the one destined to inherit the legacy of his father, known as The Dragon's Tongue. He never wanted it, never desired the power that went along with the title of Dragon. Kemono ended it all by tearing off the Dragon's head and watching the serpent's remains go up in hellfire. Now tormented by the scars of his past and those inflicted by his father, he is struggling to come to terms with the Akuma he has become.
One that wants to devour everyone in his path to get the only one that matters to him.
The only person that had ever made his icy heart beat.
His heart. His love. His beautiful pride.

Rex Hunter had a dream to become the principal ballerino...all fierce like a Phoenix. But this Phoenix has lost his wings and fell into the clutched claws and callus hands of two vicious beasts with the blackest of hearts. Where he would be kept safe, cherished and be loved unconditionally. Or was Rex just destined to be the goo that would stick two shattered souls together and prevent them from forever falling to pieces.

There's going to be blood, gore and nasty shit.
There's going to be watersports, crude, angry, sometimes sensual and other times just down right dirty and dysfunctional sex.
BUT...
There will always be LOVE.
Because even villains understand the tortured scars love leaves in its wake?

Excerpt:

Hades held out his wrists to the guard standing at the entrance, next to the warden, Knight, wearing seventies style aviators while dangling a cigarette between his grinning lips.

“You'll get some new shiners for slamming Lewinsky in the cage, el Oscuro,” Knight growled.

Hades bared his blood stained teeth in a sly smile. He flared his nostrils as the guard slapped cuffs on his wrist and bend over to shackle his ankles. Hades was tempted to send his knee into the man’s face. He seized Knight by the shirt instead, yanking the man forward. The guard at his feet jumped back, pulling out his night stick. Two more came running from his right, three from Hades’ left, Tasers ready. Hades snatched the cigarette from Knight’s lips, sucked in a deep drag, shuddering as it filled his lungs—cheap Chinese shit—and blew the smoke into his face. He killed the coal on his tongue, not minding the quick scorch, when the first set of volts rocked through him from his back. His muscles locked, forcing him forward and crashing to his knees.

Hades’ body convulsed in spasms of pain, muscles rippling and twitching as electric charges coursed through him. He felt the point of Knight’s boot bite into his side while the fucker's voice droned overhead, “Put the dog in solitary, don’t be too gentle about it either. Let it fucking starve.” Knight spat, the glob landing on Hades’s face.

With a cover/blurb/excerpt like that, it's bound to be a delicious treat. In the meantime, check out book 1 for free, if you haven't already.
