Guest Review: Stay Lucky by Leta Blake

A second chance to build the family of their dreams…

Grant long ago gave up on a relationship with Leo Garner. After all Leo left him for a movie star, and who can compete with that? But now, Leo’s back with his adorable, genius daughter in tow, leaving Grant consumed by three important questions:

1) Did Leo come home looking for a fresh start without the movie star?
2) Does he want a do-over with Grant too?
3) Why else would Leo be hanging around Grant’s hospital so much anyway?

The attraction between Grant and Leo is undeniable, and soon their affection reignites as well. But will their luck hold out through health scares and family drama so they can find their happy ending at last?

Well, I just finished this one and it was delightful! Some parts were difficult to read (due to health issues in my family resonating) but it was just joyous, and the end was so, so lovely.

So, the story opens with Dr. Grant who is a giant pain in the ass who makes nurses cry! Lucky for us, that isn’t all there is about Grant and he turns out to be a straight talking, no nonsense sweetheart who falls in love with Leo’s daughter as much as Leo himself!

Leo is a charming character who has had some rotten luck in love and in life. (I think I’ll almost certainly need the movie star’s HEA at some point) but this story is superb.

The book is told in present time with full chapter flash-backs and that level of jumping back and forth is usually difficult for me to love, but I did really like how Leta did it. It wasn’t isolated scenes to tell a story is was more like told in dual time. There was angst and suspense but it wasn’t unbearable for a delicate flower like me!!

It’s super hard to report on this book without making terrible spoilers, I’m such a blabbermouth! Let’s just say, It’s completely awesome and you should read it. Okay? To clarify, I’ve already pre-ordered the set of 6 short stories about the Stay Lucky characters due out in February.

I was given a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
