Quiet, hard-working Jared McFarland loves his farm on the outskirts of Hope, Arizona, but he aches to have someone to come home to at the end of the day. There's just something about Cardeno C. that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. And then paired with Paul Morey narrating? Perfection.
Lucas, Jared's longtime crush, is heading to Arizona to stay with Jared. Not by choice, of course. His father sends him there to learn some discipline and responsibility. As he has none, instead he's a total brat.
They start out as kind-of enemies. I say kind-of because I don't think it's anything personal. Lucas is enemies with anyone who doesn't give him his way. Like I said, he's a brat.
Jared is so sweet and shy. I just LUV him. He didn't let Lucas get away with too much, but he still managed to be his sweet self and woo Lucas, unintentionally.
Their relationship was natural and organic. It just flowed. Even in it's short amount of pages, it didn't feel rushed at all.
And damn, they were sexy. This is where I would have loved more. I think shy Jared's got a dirty mouth on him just waiting to shout delicious words to Lucas. We caught a glimpse, just a glimpse, and it wasn't nearly enough.
McFarland's Farm is a delicious, feel good, low angst, little treat.
