- I’m a foodie (and a wine lover)—Don’t believe me? Just check out my Instagram. I can usually be found dining out or cooking up a storm! In recent times, it’s mainly home cooking due to lockdown, but I don’t let that stop me from entertaining. I’ve enjoyed some fun ‘mirror meals’ with my family—my girls are in Sydney lockdown while I’m locked down 2 hours away. These are meals where I menu plan with my girls, then do a shop with them at the same time while we chat on the phone, prepare the exact same recipe together while Facetiming, then dine via Zoom with a laptop on the table at each location. So much fun!
- I’m an Aussie – and I’m lucky enough to have kangaroos visit my house most days!
- I’ve made the tree-change—Although raised in Sydney, I’m a country girl at heart. I was lucky enough to move permanently to my country home early last year. Now I’m surrounded by beautiful countryside and wildlife (see point 2) and vineyards and cellar doors (see point 1).
- Writing is my escape and my outlet – writing a way to immerse myself in other places and surround myself with characters who take up residence in my heart. I love to lose myself in the process of brining my stories to life.
- I believe everyone deserves a happy ending—I think that’s why the m/m genre appealed to me so much; as an opportunity to show that love is love, and open people’s eyes to stories of men falling in love with each other. It’s a genre that promotes acceptance.
Meet the Author
Nic Starr lives in Australia where she tries to squeeze as much into her busy life as possible. Balancing the demands of a corporate career with raising a family and writing can be challenging but she wouldn’t give it up for the world.
Always a reader, the lure of m/m romance was strong and she devoured hundreds of wonderful m/m romance books before eventually realising she had some stories of her own that needed to be told!
When not writing or reading, she loves to spend time with her family–an understanding husband and two beautiful daughters–and is often found indulging in her love of cooking and planning her dream home in the country.
