When Rene Conette attends an intimate performance at a local bar, the guitarist moves him enough that he attempts to go backstage but is stymied by the man’s bodyguard. Putting it down as not meant to be, he goes on with his life only to run into the man again, late at night at a bookstore.

If Rene can work his way past Gavin’s defenses, they might find they complement each other perfectly.

Rene is completely taken when he sees the mystery performer, but it isn’t until they meet again in a bookstore that he gets to talk to Gavin. Gavin’s need speaks to Rene from the start, but trust is the thing they need to build.
Being a Sean Michael book, the reader gets what they are expecting, or at least I did! A good dose of insta-lust turned love, and a generous helping of kinky sex.
I liked the characters from the outset, and although Rene wasn’t exactly relatable, I wanted him to make a connection with Gavin. There was a gentle hand given to Gavin's torture experience and his mysterious twin bodyguards (I hope they get their own story) and the courage which with Gavin let Rene in was inspiring. The way Rene helped Gavin overcome a panic attack was charming and I was so happy these guys got their HEA.
