Seriously, for some reason MC’s Deacon and Lang, just did it for me in Fish Stick Fridays, so I couldn’t pass up this sequel to revisit them. Though this focuses heavily on Zig, Deacon’s niece (who’s been officially adopted by both him and Lang), it also features West, Angel, and Rome from Hanging the Stars as well, which satisfies my epilogue loving self in all the ways.
This was emotional and sentimental and really about family - both traditional and not - and what it means to be thankful for what one has and how far everyone has come to carve out a place to live and love as a cohesive unit. This also obviously, brought a few tears to my eyes as well but don’t fear, this was nicely smexy showing how Deacon and Lang celebrate and cherish each other every single day.
So yes, this indulged my love of reading about established couples. For sure, Ford can be OTT in setting up a couple, but she always excels in their follow ups, in the little and big ways in how they work together and how hard they love.
Overall, a perfect holiday reunion of a favorite! This made me sigh in contentment and tugged at my heartstrings, witnessing everyone flourishing in who they were meant to be and be with! Enjoy!
