Anniversary Shenanigans: Author Visit & Giveaway - Mary Calmes

That loud shriek you're hearing is because, Mary Freaking Calmes aka Orchid Dapple Horse, has stepped into the unicorn stable and there are a few unicorns maybe losing their minds!

And though we'd love to bask in the eternal Calmes light, she is here with a special message and a prize for one lucky person. Take it away, Orchid Dapple Horse!

I wanted to wish Boy Meets Boy Reviews a happy two year anniversary as well as thank them so much for having me here to join in on their celebration.
My new book Easy Evenings will be released from Dreamspinner Press on November 18th and I wanted to give one reader here on the blog a chance to take it home. Please simply respond with your favorite way to spend an easy evening—mine is watching Steve & Danno on Hawaii Five-0—and the email address associated with your DSP account so I can place the novella on the winning reader’s bookshelf on release day. The lovely team here at Boy Meets Boy Reviews will pick one winner at random and notify me. Good luck all and thank you for playing.

Lazlo Maguire doesn’t do relationships—he does transactions. Six months of the year, he’s an expensive rent boy in Manhattan, and he moves so fast that settling down could not, would not, ever enter his mind… except for once. Britton Lassiter he meets man to man, not as hustler and mark, and it’s too good to be true when the lawyer wants to keep Lazlo even if he has to share him with the job.

But Lazlo has his reasons to walk away from the man he’s grown to love. The other six months of the year, he is laid-back Laz, a shopkeeper in the sleepy coastal town of Mangrove, Florida, where the artist he never allows himself to be in the Big Apple shines through. He lives for his time by the ocean, the place he hides his secrets and nurses his broken heart.

Then fate intervenes, and Laz gets the surprise of his life when he spies Britton in Mangrove—but it’s not meant to be… not until Britton sees the change in him and wants to be a part of Laz’s new life so that every evening can be easy… together. Hopefully the secrets that tore them apart won’t come back to haunt them.

  3. After 10, dishes done, my husband watching tv, girls in their rooms and puppies on my lap. Guilt free Kindle time, with a new release or re-reading a favorite story/series between two men. Preferably with some hot sex. 😉

  4. Recently I have tried to get away from the computers and the television at night. I bought a set of 72 color pencils and a couple coloring books for adults (not adult-themed coloring books) and color while listening to audiobooks. I find it very relaxing. I still love reading, lots!!, but I find the combination of coloring and listening is very relaxing too.

  6. The best evening for me is in my backyard with an ice cold beer or four :) and my Kindle. It seems to be the only way I can manage to wash off the day and truly relax. Unfortunately I am running out of the weather for it. Thank goodness I have socks and blankets!

Happy Anniversary gang and thanks Mary for doing this!

  9. There are only two options for a my perfect evening. The easiest one (especially now, when it is cold and rainy here) is in my bed with a good book, quiet music (that has to match the book genre) in the background and a cup of hot aromatic chocolate (or gin with tonic when my mood is bad). Yummy. The other option, that unfortunately is only a summer option, is to spend evening sitting on the bench in the park or lying on the beach. I love being near water, doesn't matter if it is sea or just a small lake. And if I am lucky there is lots of screaming seagulls or at least swans on the lake. Absolutely perfect:)

  12. My ideal evening is snuggled on the sofa with my husband, two grown daughters, our son and our dog Rudy.. Each weekend, we spend time together catching up on the TV that we all like (that's tricky our taste is divergent, but we have a few shared programmes), Googgle Box, Modern Family and First Dates. Followed by a candlelight bubble bath for me, with my kindle. Blissful! :D
