The most wonderful time of the year is about to get even better.

On a cold, rainy December morning, Finn’s beloved Grampa, his best friend and rock, makes a friend outside their home who he invites in for coffee. The last thing Finn expects is Nelson, a man with a painful past, who is beautiful and generous and turns Finn’s knees into jelly.

What starts out as a chance to get out of the rain, soon becomes more as Nelson helps Finn get ready for the Christmas market. They bond over coffee and fabric and Mariah Carey. Can handmade Christmas ornaments and an understanding heart give Nelson the love he’s been denied?

Excerpt

Sunday arrives with clear skies and no rain, but instead, the temperature has dropped overnight and hovers in the low thirties. I arm myself with a thermos of coffee and dress accordingly: long johns under my orange bellbottom corduroy pants, a long-sleeved t-shirt and a turtleneck layered under my windbreaker, a fluffy scarf wound around my neck and a beanie that makes my hair look ridiculous. It flattens everything under the hat, but at the ribbed cuff, my curls explode in every direction with a vengeance.

A lot of people attend the first market of the season and despite the cold pluming my breath in front of me, everyone is in high spirits and full of holiday cheer. My neighbor to the right, Mrs. Winterbottom -- yes, that’s her real name -- is dressed as Mrs. Santa and sells magnificent hand-crafted fir wreaths. On my left, Mr. and Mrs. Carruthers sell gold-brushed chocolate pralines that are too pretty to eat and taste even better.

Every vendor plays holiday music, greets the shoppers with a jolly ho-ho-ho, and a comment on the weather. The shoppers, in turn, have deep pockets and are eager to acquire the merchandise. People love my ornaments, and my stuff flies off the table. I will be cleaned out completely before the market closes if this continues. I need to spend more time sewing so I can bring lots more next week.

After a couple hours, huge powdery snowflakes start sailing leisurely from the sky, adding to the holiday feeling. The only downer on this fabulous day is that I ran out of coffee early. Mrs. Winterbottom forgot hers at home, and I shared mine with her. I wouldn’t let my worst enemy go without coffee if I could do something about it.

But in a lull between customers, a savior arrives.

Nelson. Carrying two paper cups in mittened hands.

Warmth flashes in my chest at the sight of him; his shy smile and brown eyes that are warm enough to thaw the thin layer of ice from the pond in the middle of the park where the market is held.

“Hi,” he says, sounding out of breath. “I know you like coffee, but I thought maybe hot chocolate would be nice in this cold?” He holds out of the cups and if we weren’t separated by the table I would show my gratitude by hugging the stuffing out of the man. New acquaintance or not.

“My hero!” I accept the offering, tear off the lid, and inhale. The sweet, slightly bitter aroma makes my mouth water. I take a small sip, but it isn’t too hot to drink so I have some more. I hum in happiness and smile at him. “This is awesome. Thank you so much.”

Nelson’s gaze is glued to my mouth with eyelids heavy and lips parted. “You’ve got ...” He sets down his cup and pulls off his red and white mittens, then he leans forward and swipes the pad of his thumb along my upper lip.

I draw a stuttering breath.

“You had chocolate on your lip,” he rasps, his voice so deliciously rumbly I feel it all the way in my bones. “There. All gone.” He does a final sweep before withdrawing.

I can’t help it; my hand flies to my mouth and I finger my lip as though I’m trying to stop the lingering warmth from evaporating.

“Thank you.” My voice is hoarse. Our eyes lock as he picks up the mittens and put them back on. My breathing grows shallow and the Christmas music cacophony and loud buzz of the market-goers fade into the background. All I see is him. All I hear is his breathing.

“Finn. I ...”

Nell Iris is a romantic at heart who believes everyone deserves a happy ending. She’s a bona fide bookworm (learned to read long before she started school), wouldn’t dream of going anywhere without something to read (not even the ladies’ room), loves music (and singing along but, let’s face it, she’s no Celine Dion), and is a real Star Trek nerd (“Make it so”). She loves words, poetry, wine, and Sudoku, and absolutely adores elephants!

Nell believes passionately in equality for all regardless of race, gender, or sexuality, and wants to make the world a better, less hateful, place.

Nell is a forty-something bisexual Swedish woman, married to the love of her life, and a proud mama of a grown daughter. She left the Scandinavian cold and darkness for warmer and sunnier Malaysia a few years ago, and now spends her days writing, surfing the Internet, enjoying the heat, and eating good food. One day she decided to chase her lifelong dream of being a writer, sat down in front of her laptop, and wrote a story about two men falling in love.

Nell Iris writes gay romance, prefers sweet over angst, and wants to write diverse and different characters.

Guest Review: Rocked Hard by Morticia Knight

Can the touch of a rock god last forever?

Legendary alt rock singer, Aubrey King, is making a comeback after many years out of the spotlight. Rumors of his sexuality have always dogged him, and while he’s never come out publicly, his reasons for leaving the industry had nothing to do with his fear of discovery. What matters to him is the music. That’s his truth, and so far, his only real love. He aches to find someone to share his life with, but his propensity to fall fast and hard—along with chasing men he knows can never be his—has left him all alone.

Rock journalist Bryan Gallagher was first turned on to rock music at the age of twelve when he became obsessed with Aubrey’s band, Falling in Stereo. His friends, and even girlfriends, would sometimes tease him that he was hot for Aubrey. But it was all about the music and nothing else—at least that’s what he’s always told himself. When he’s approached about helping Aubrey write his memoir, it’s not only a dream assignment, but an exciting opportunity to work closely with his idol.

When Bryan meets Aubrey, the electric heat between them is unnerving. He’s further confused by how intense Aubrey’s attraction toward him is and how deeply they connect over their shared obsession of music. While Bryan struggles with uncertainty regarding his own sexuality, he also has to navigate through the perils of working with a lover and keeping their relationship a secret.

But Bryan’s biggest struggle of all might be determining whether declarations of true love from a rock star can ever be trusted.

Publisher's Note: This book was previously released in two parts ( Rockin' the Alternative and Rockin' it Forever ) as part of the What's his Passion? collection at Pride Publishing. It has been revised and reedited for re-release.

Reviewer: Shee Reader

This has to be one of my favourite premises for an MM romance. A guy who has never really known himself and his needs, wants and desires who is pursued wholeheartedly by another who has never before met anyone worth coming out for. Aubrey is the rock god, Bryan is the journalist. They hit it off from the first meeting. But neither really knows or understands what he is feeling. Their chemistry is red hot, they have proximity and opportunity to explore each other, but then what?

There is such a lot of painful self discovery and exploration, angst and heartache and love and joy and excitement that this book kept me turning the pages long after I should have gone to bed! This is a decent sized novel (almost 400 pages in paperback) but I read it in just a few days. Such was the lure or Aubrey and Bryan.

I really enjoyed the romance and love blooming, but also the development of the relationship that neither man had experienced before. The genuine insights into the music industry were like catnip to my inner musician, and the guys falling for each other and trying to keep it a secret was the icing on the cake.

Rocked Hard is well written with three dimensional characters I cared for from the outset and super engaging dialogue that kept me turning pages. I absolutely loved it. The guys were strong independent and only needed each other once they realised what it was to need!

Highly recommended.

Review: My Regelence Rake (Sci-Regency #3) by J.L. Langley

A Sci-Regency Novel: sequel to The Englor Affair

Sebastian Hastings, Viscount Wentworth, is captain of the Royal Guard by day and scandalous rake by night. To protect the royal family of Regelence from the plots of the Intergalactic Navy, Sebastian makes it his priority to personally oversee their safety.

Prince Colton Townsend is done pining after the roguish viscount and focuses his attention on his second love—horses. Following his dream of owning a racehorse breeding farm distracts Colton from his heartache… until Sebastian begins shadowing him.

When a good deed at a horse auction sparks public rumors, Colton just might get the man and the marriage he’s longed for. But Sebastian’s duties and secrets keep him walled off from those who would get close.

To reach Sebastian, Colton takes one last risk that might break his heart….

Seriously, this just keeps getting better and better!

It pains me to know that this might be the only series of its kind - a space opera steeped heavily in military royalty espionage, all against a backdrop of a society that holds to Regency rules. Unless somebody knows differently?? Anybody??

Regardless, this time around focuses on Prince Colton, who has finally resigned himself to the fact that Lord Sebastian Wentworth, aka a notorious rake, is never going to notice him, and that he simply needs to move on with his life. If only…

What Colton doesn't know is that Sebastian basically feels unworthy to even contemplate being his consort and thus, the situation is moot. However, it soon becomes apparent to Sebastian that the boy has grown into a damn beautiful man that he can no longer ignore, nor does he want to.

Luckily, many a circumstance and two wonderfully mischievous dads (and their various co-conspirators) work hard to bring Colton and Sebastian together. Such humorous levity that includes a fabulous ensemble cast, juxtaposes the more serious main mystery of the series, balancing things out wonderfully to make this a really fun and entertaining installment!

Fear not, there’s plenty of strict societal rules ready to be broken, with forbidden stolen kisses and fervent secret groping. This was especially extra fraught with feels, adding depth to the reliable hot UST and smexy smex, all intermingled with my favorite turmoil of insecurity, jealousy, and doubt. Yum!

So again, consistently delicious, sink-your-teeth-in goodness, blending scifi and historical genres perfectly on a futuristic planet all about men loving men.

Propriety that begs to be dismantled was never stripped so sweetly than in this series. Mmmm hmmm. I can hardly wait for the next!

Giveaway + Blog Tour: The Christmas Lights Battle by Skylar M. Cates

Skylar M. Cates visits with The Christmas Lights Battle blog tour! Don't miss the teasers or the backlist eBook giveaway!

Two Teasers and a Giveaway:

Happy holidays! Skylar, here. I’m thrilled to share my upcoming Christmas book with you. I fell in love with Leo and Julian’s journey in The Christmas Lights Battle: A Shelby Beach Romance, and I hope that you will fall for them too. Their story is a standalone, happily-ever-after holiday book, but I’m looking forward to telling more tales from Shelby Beach.

Blurb:

For a single dad and his neighbor, the Christmas competition is on!

Julian Moss wants to give his children a happy Christmas. Since his divorce, Julian has no time for a social life; he’s been doing the tiring work of two parents while his cheating ex-husband dodges his responsibilities. If that isn’t stressful enough, he has to deal with his new—and ridiculously good-looking—neighbor and his noisy dogs. Christmas used to be Julian’s favorite holiday, but lately all he sees is the cost. Then Julian’s young son tells him about a Christmas lights competition with a much-needed prize.

Leo Adams is going to be alone for Christmas…again. All he’s ever wanted is to be accepted by his family, but he knows that will never happen. Deciding to focus on his career as a personal trainer, Leo develops a boot camp program on the beach, but he needs publicity. The lights competition offers Leo a way to get some free press, and if it annoys his snooty neighbor Julian—all the better.
The battle is on, and both Julian and Leo want to win. The stakes are high, the reward is great, and the neighbors are in it to win it. There’s nothing like a little competition to make Christmas at Shelby Beach extra merry and bright.

For your enjoyment, here are some teasers from the novel:

TEASER ONE:

Julian was about to pass them by, when he halted in his tracks and took another look. Julian froze, then cautiously took a step backward out of sight. His heart pounded.

It couldn’t be the new neighbor he’d been spying on….Same honey-blond hair though, same orange flip-flops and shorts. Worse, how many guys were built like that? He was a good deal over six feet and sculpted with muscle. Looking from the safety of his house was one thing, but Julian didn’t want to actually talk to him.

TEASER TWO:

Without thinking, Leo swam nearer and took Julian into his arms. He kissed him in the salty ocean, as they drifted over a small wave. Julian kissed him in return, tenderly, searchingly. They kissed the way a person might learn a new language, might love a strange syllable, a rich sound. Leo’s hips pushed against Julian’s. He wanted to pull Julian to him harder, to let Julian be inside his body.

THANK YOU!

I hope that you enjoyed those teasers! The Christmas Lights Battle releases on December 7th (today). So please celebrate the release with me! It’s always such an exciting time (and nerve-racking time) for a writer, and I’m so happy to be here with all of you. I’d love to hear from you on my social media too.

Review: Stuck with You by Jay Northcote

Two clashing colleagues stuck together for Christmas—will opposites eventually attract?

Patrick has been single since he broke up with his cheating ex almost a year ago. With Christmas looming, he’s resigned to spending it alone with only memories of happier times for company. When a business trip with a co-worker leaves them stranded in the Lake District due to heavy snow, it seems Patrick will have company for Christmas after all. It’s a shame his companion is Kyle, who’s undeniably attractive, but annoying as hell.

Aware of Patrick’s reluctant admiration, Kyle basks in the attention even though Patrick isn’t the type of man he normally goes for. Averse to relationships after being hurt in the past, Kyle enjoys the occasional hook up, but has given up on seeking anything more meaningful.

Stuck together, their antagonism escalates along with a heavy dose of sexual tension until it finally ignites. What starts as a Christmas fling soon feels like something special; but will their tentative connection melt away as the snow thaws? If they’re going to take a chance on finding happiness together, they’ll have to put their differences aside and learn to trust one another.

Contains: enemies-to-lovers, snowball fights, bickering, spanking, a cute dog, a wise old lady, mistletoe, and a happy ending (of course).

Some feuding-colleagues-to-lovers with a side of kink and holiday feels? Yes please!

description

Since breaking things off with his cheating ex, Patrick has been living a lonely life. To make matters worse, he has to put up with his annoying younger mentee.

Kyle is the opposite of Patrick - an outgoing party animal who prefers hookups over relationships. He knows Patrick finds him annoying, but he finds his tight-laced mentor equally insufferable.

I thought Kyle was a riot. He’s a total brat, but the kind you can’t help but love.

And Patrick would seem to agree.

When the two are snowed in together in a remote English village, it doesn’t take long for them to butt heads.

But the anger’s just hiding a different kind of tension - one that it doesn’t take long for the two MCs to begin exploring.

Let me just say - Kyle and Patrick are hot, hot, hot. The light kink was unexpected, but totally welcome!

description

While the snow rages outside and our two MCs find creative ways to get warm and cozy, their mutual dislike gradually melts away.

I really liked seeing how their assumptions of each other were challenged. Patrick realizes that despite Kyle’s antics, he has a heart of gold. And Kyle comes to appreciate why Patrick’s

And best of all, the two let themselves be vulnerable around each other. I won’t lie, I may have swooned a little bit.

Of course, not all is automatic sunshine and roses, but the happy ever after was perfect.

I also really liked the secondary character of Mrs. Wilcox.

Overall, ‘Stuck With You’ hit a lot of high notes for me, with a sweet and steamy romance and a strong dose of holiday cheer, and all of it in a quaint English country village. Recommended!

Can poverty and privilege find a loving compromise?

Alexandre Bonfils, a rich and spoiled second son, is tired of being ignored and decides to help when the family’s exclusive wine business is in trouble. Going undercover in the warehouse, he loves the adventure—and the chance to be close to the sassy and sexy manager, Tate Somerton.

Tate is hardworking and financially struggling, bringing up his siblings on his own. A suspected saboteur at work is his latest challenge, but now he also has a clueless, though very attractive, new intern. There’s an immediate spark between the ill-matched couple, until a shocking accident cuts short Alex’s amateur sleuthing.

While recovering in the generous care of Tate and his family, will Alex realize what belonging really means? Passion and pride come together to fight for the company they’re both committed to preserving, but can a personal bond remain when the dust settles?

Excerpt

“ALEXANDRE, GOOD morning.” Charles Bonfils, the patriarch of Bonfils Bibendum, the highly prestigious London wine merchants, a cousin of an English baronet, and a personal multimillionaire—if he ever had the poor manners to share actual financials with anyone other than his personal advisors—inclined his distinguished, salt-and-pepper-haired head at the young man sitting on the other side of his desk. “Good of you to turn up on time.”

Alex Bonfils inwardly winced. His father was one of the few people who could, without fail, make him feel four years old again. He resisted rubbing his palms dry on his designer slacks, but only just, and nodded in reply. “Papa, when you call, I come. Of course.”

Charles lifted one eyebrow; that was all.

It was enough.

“Father.” Alex took a deep breath and ran his hand through his blond hair, inevitably destroying the artful work of his personal stylist. “Okay, so I know I haven’t been your most reliable son—”

“I only have two,” Charles murmured. “And all I ask is that they are both full participants in the family business. Or any legitimate business, for that matter.” He sounded calm, but his fingers tightened dangerously around his antique ink pen.

“Yeah.” Alex assumed this summons was something to do with him missing the latest Bonfils management meeting. Or maybe it was because of those embarrassing paparazzi pictures taken in the nightclub last weekend with the twin male models. Or when he gate-crashed the Queen’s garden party last summer, or the fact that Alex had never bothered to finish his university business management course, preferring to go backpacking in Ibiza, or… or… oh, many more examples of how he continued to disappoint his august Papa.

“I think the time has come to face facts,” Charles said.

“Yes? I mean, it has? What about?”

Charles grimaced, obviously struggling to keep his temper. “You have shown little enthusiasm in the business to date, whereas Henri….”

Alex bit back a snort. Henri. His revered, very sober and sensible elder brother, with a gorgeous aristocratic wife and two precocious children to carry on the Bonfils family line. Henri was their father’s chosen heir to the business dynasty. Henri was brighter, smarter, more reliable, more respectable, more predictable—

“Alexandre? Are you listening to me?”

Alex jolted back to attention. “Sure. Go on. You were talking about Henri. How does that affect me?” He hadn’t meant to sound snappy, but constant comparison to a preferred sibling would do that to a guy.

“He’s Bonfils’s CEO for a reason, Alex. He’s committed to the company, a fierce supporter of the industry. He listens, and he learns. Then he works hard.”

The implication was there—Henri was and did all the things Alex wasn’t and didn’t.

“I can work hard.” Alex wished he sounded less defensive. He could work hard. He was just so rarely inspired to. Or rather, he was distracted by things more exciting, more dramatic, more intriguing than profit and loss accounts, stock turnover ratios, and five-year operational budgets.

He hid his shudder at the mere thought.

Surprisingly, his father didn’t scorn his protest. Instead, his gaze almost softened. “Believe me, I know you can. And you do, for the things you love. You have many excellent qualities, and the good intention of using them. But I can’t rely on mere intention for the continuing, successful management of this company. It needs to be your life’s work.”

Alex blinked hard. What was Charles saying? “Jesus, Papa. Are you firing me?”

Charles blew out a tight breath. “I cannot fire you, as you so quaintly put it, when you have a unique position as my son. However, I see no reason to burden you with an operational role any longer.” His tone hardened. “Alexandre, I think you should find yourself a new, personally satisfying project. You will no longer be needed at the monthly management meetings. Your personal allowance will continue—it was your mother’s last wish that all members of the family are supported, regardless of their role in the business—but I think it best for both our expectations if you distance yourself for a while from Bonfils’s Bibendum.” He placed his pen down on the desk blotter with exaggerated care.

Alex was speechless. It was an unfamiliar status.

For a long moment, Charles was still. Then he stood and half lifted his hand from his side, as if he was about to shake Alex’s hand or maybe—just maybe—pat him on the shoulder. Instead, he sighed deeply and gestured gently toward the door for Alex to leave. “And now, if you’ll excuse me, I have an appointment elsewhere.”

Review: Lover Behind Enemy Lines (Dreamcatchers #3) by Liv Olteano

True mates, together at last.

Claw—fearless leader of Seattle’s Team 32—has faced many dangers during more than a century and a half as a dreamcatcher. Yet nothing has ever scared him more than his obsession with Nathan Gallagher. Tormented by visions and dreams about the man ever since he first laid eyes on him, Claw now has to deal with living under the same roof with the object of his most ardent desires. And Nathan is so much more than a simple crush.

Brother of the caster who’s been plaguing Team 32’s area and less-than-willing houseguest of the team after a strange break-in attempt, Nathan may hold the key to finally apprehending his sister and putting a stop to the havoc she’s wreaking on Queen Anne…. Meanwhile, Nathan’s wreaking some havoc of his own on Claw’s heart.

I’ve been waiting for this story forever or at least it seems that long. There were so many hints in Taka’s book that I needed this story! Nathan Gallagher is the brother of Vivian, a ley line witch who is basically at war with Team 32 of the Dreamcatchers and namely, Claw who has had a pull toward Nathan for some time now. In the last book, we know Nathan broke into the home of Team 32 and is now handcuffed to the wall as their prisoner until they figure out what to do with him.

We know what Claw wants to do with him. And this being in Claw’s POV, we are privy to his thoughts but Claw wants to understand why he feels so drawn to Nathan and not just the physical side of it all. What’s interesting to find out is Claw believes that Nathan might be the reincarnated soul of his first love some 100+ years ago…
All of it led to this […] Entire lives of seemingly random steps and disconnected choices, all of it was a path to this point.
I have said it many times and I will say it again, fated/soul/true mates or whatever you want to call it turns my crank in romance. The simple idea that this person, even if they are your enemy is MADE FOR YOU and ONLY YOU gets my hopeless romantic heart beating at a frantic pace. Knowing this match between Claw and Nathan could go back a century and includes reincarnation just turned my interest in the story higher and higher.

Anyway, Nathan is prisoner and Claw wants to find out why he broke into the house. Aashi sees that Claw is troubled and he tells her he wants to find out if Nathan is the reincarnated soul of his first love. When Aashi gives him a special powder to do so, Nathan tells Claw he can use the powder but he wants first out of the handcuffs and second, wants to perform a spell on them both that will allow the other to see if they are lying. The spell, Napeva’s Tooth, gives the liar a toothache feeling and a red band forms on their wrist to show the lie. Claw is prepared to do so because if he does, Nathan will tell him why he broke in and what he knows about his sister. There is a counter spell to Napeva’s Tooth called Napeva’s Mercy and it will break the truth spell but must be performed once for every lie told. Wow. Talk about a reason not to lie, right?

The chemistry was great between Nathan and Claw and I really liked how Nathan openly flirted with is captor. Though Claw doesn’t see himself that way and is such a gentleman he would never force himself on Nathan you feel the attraction and if you’re like me, wanted Claw to take Nathan up on all his offers including ones with the handcuffs. But Claw, while he wants to give into this attraction to Nathan, knowing Nathan’s reincarnated soul makes him feel as if he is betraying his first love. Sigh. Noble men and their gentle hearts will get me every time.

I really liked Nathan. Getting his back story about his sister, about the powers she has and what used to be done to children like her was really melancholy. He had a great connection with his sister and the way their powers fed off the other but when she disappeared, Nathan had to find other ways to cope and finding Vivian again, he didn’t find the same sister he lost. Vivian is power hungry and growing up on her own without the steady teaching of other ley line witches, she is corrupt and Nathan wants to help Team 32 in any way to stop what she is doing, as long as she doesn’t get hurt.
“[…] There’s a strong connection between your life forces. I can’t imagine that two souls connected like that would ever be able to turn against each other.”
“You’re saying I won’t turn against him, either. No matter what.”
Oh but this was a good one. There is a lot that I want to say, but it would totally spoil the book. Just know that everything you think you know even as you are reading the story, isn’t all of it. This book is so layered with the magic of both witches and Dreamcatchers that it was almost hard to keep up if I wasn’t so glued to the page. I really loved where this went for the entire Team 32 and really where Nathan and Claw end up. I always get a kick out of Aashi and her playful but stern way with her soldiers and her feelings about Nathan were powerful.

I am pretty sure this is the last in the series as we have each member of Team 32 paired with the fated love of their life. Drew and Angelo, Take and Ginger and now Nathan and Claw. Not one of the three have had it easy but finding their mates lessens the burden of being a Dreamcatcher and protected the innocent. This series was a fun read with great world building and the perfect romantic/paranormal balance that is exactly what the Dreamspun Beyond line is all about.

Kaiyo’s bloodline has been part of the Garrow pack for generations. He has been destined to be shaman, to anchor the werewolves to the land, and lend aid with the force of his Ousía. Smelling blood in the water, enemies hunt the decimated pack from all sides. Kaiyo grows increasingly reckless in his desperation to defend his pack, to finally grow into his shaman powers, and to protect Ahmik: the boy he loves.

Something is killing children and Kaiyo is the only one strong enough to stop it.

After the hard winter of 1888 ended Alby Boyle’s work as a Nebraska ranch hand, he returned to New York City in search of his long-lost family. His mother and brothers are nowhere to be found, however, and after Alby’s years of absence, Five Corners no longer feels like home. His prospects seem as dim as the nighttime alleys.

When Alby pauses to admire an angel ornament in a department store window’s Christmas display, he meets Xeno Varnham-Summerfield. Wealthy, handsome, and enthusiastic, Xeno brings Alby some temporary cheer. But for Alby to achieve his dreams of love and a real home, well, that may take a bit of holiday magic.

The Christmas Angel Series

In 1750, a master woodcarver poured all his unrequited love, passion, and longing into his masterpiece—a gorgeous Christmas angel for his beloved’s tree. When the man he loved tossed the angel away without a second thought, a miracle happened. The angel was found by another who brought the woodcarver True Love.

Since then, the angel has been passed down, sold, lost and found, but its magic remains. Read the romances inspired by (and perhaps nudged along by) the Christmas angel through the years. Whether it’s 1700s England (Eli Easton's Christmas Angel), the 1880’s New York (Kim Fielding’s Summerfield’s Angel), the turn-of-the-century (Jordan L. Hawk’s Magician’s Angel), World War II (L.A. Witt’s Christmas Homecoming), Vietnam-era (N.R. Walker’s Soldier’s Wish), the 1990’s (Anyta Sunday’s Shrewd Angel), or 2018 (RJ Scott’s Christmas Prince), the Christmas angel has a way of landing on the trees of lonely men who need its blessing for a very Merry Christmas and forever HEA.

Review: Romancing the Undercover Millionaire (Romancing the... #3) by Clare London

This series just keeps getting better and better! When I saw there was another “Romancing The…” book coming out I was far more than excited. I’ve loved the previous books and seeing this set within the world of the exclusive wine business had me bubbling like a sparkling wine.

I adored the idea of this set up. We have Alex Bonfils who is the playboy of the famous Bonfils Bibendum wine family whose father is tired of him not taking his position in the family business seriously. So, basically his father fires him but since he can’t exactly do that, he tells Alex he needs to find a personally satisfying project. When it comes to our dear Alex, it’s not that he doesn’t want a place in the family business, it’s that he’s always been a bit lost as to what his place could be with his older brother Henri settling in firmly as the CEO and leaving Alex to the wind. Alex won’t accept the firing though, he’s determined to show his father he can be more, he can be a valued part of the business and the family and when hears one of the warehouses is having “worrying events”, he takes it upon himself to go undercover to solve the problem and show his father his worth.

My family and I love the show Undercover Boss. It’s always a heartwarming watch to see the Boss see how their company is run and the employees who go above and beyond the job because it’s not just a job to them. Their loyalty and integrity to their positions always earns them a handsome reward and for Bristol Warehouse Manager Tate Somerton that reward comes with a handsome man indeed as well as a future he only hoped for.

Told in dual POV’s of our couple, we meet Alex first as he plans his undercover adventure down to the dying of his light hair and applying for the intern position at the Bristol warehouse. We meet Tate as he is starting his day going through the “to do” list in his head for the three siblings he takes care of after his parents death and his Gran who lives with them. Tate has a lot on his plate but he gets through the day at a job he actually enjoys, committees to improve situations he's passionate about until it’s time to return home to the cacophony of love that is his family.

The meet cute of Tate and Alex is one that is always a favorite for me. When the self-assured man gets flustered by putting his foot in his mouth right before he turns and meets the stunning ginger that is now his boss? I LOVED it. I also loved that we get both men’s first impression of the other and both are hot under the collar and ready for some workplace fraternizing. Well, in their head that is. Well, in Tate’s head he is but Tate is steady and cautious with his life and while he fancies his new intern, Alex Goodson, he won’t act upon his feelings. It’s a damn good thing that Alex doesn’t have such reservations and knows exactly what the Bonfil Human Resource status is on dating a coworker so he sets up anything he can do to be around Tate.

They’d only known each other a short time. They’d said no strings, right?
I loved the heck out of Alex. He isn’t the stuffy and arrogant rich playboy the social pages make him out to be. Learning quickly of his childhood before the death of his mother gives the reader a wonderful picture of who Alex is at the core and how that essence has been lost being thrust at the table without a definitive place card. He relishes in the making of the family wine from the soil to the first pour. He is knowledgeable about the business but when everything is already done for him, what is there to do? Applying as an intern not only gives him a chance to go undercover to solve the mystery of events that seem to be internal sabotage but it gives him an opportunity to see levels of the business he never learned. Meeting Tate not only makes Alex want the man, it makes Alex want more than a hook up with a man and while that terrifies Alex, he doesn’t turn away after the first date and the official meeting of Tate’s family. In fact, that first meeting allows Alex to take it slow with Tate and when their days blend into nights, when Alex starts to feel more, he knows he needs to tell Tate the truth.

Tate is my fellow ginger and over thinker extraordinaire. I loved him and how responsible he was not only with taking care of his siblings without a second thought but how he puts everyone first, even before him. I know what that’s like and it can be exhausting. Tate needed to have someone like Alex come into his life to show him that he matters, that he should be put first and his wants are just as important as the rest of the family. Though Tate feels Alex is holding back from him and not telling him the whole truth, when he learns it I was thankful for his reaction. I’d expect nothing less from a rational man.

The mystery of what was going on in the warehouse was an added bonus to this romance. I loved how bumbling Alex seems when he first starts as in intern and begins asking seemingly random questions. Alex’s main goal is to straighten out the mishaps going on at the warehouse with revolving pallets and delivery mix-ups but a bit of falling in love never hurt anyone.

Okay.

Wow.

Rambling Red has gone off the rails with this one, eh? I just loved the heck out of this story and I haven’t even mentioned Tate’s lovely family. Each one of his siblings own a piece of that man’s heart and only want the best for their brother. They help Tate open up to the possibility of Alex being more than a friend and they so help Alex evolve into a true family man. I loved every minute they were one the page and hope Gran catches up with all the Game of Thrones hoopla with Alex.

Ack. There is still so much to say but I just want to add that I really liked the connection of Tate wanting to apply for the sommelier internship considering it was actually Alex who created the Bonfils sommelier internship, open to all applicants…sigh. These two were so made for each other in so many ways.

This story was so good. Every bit of it made my romantic heart happy and I do hope that one day, Alex and Tate do disarm the CCTV and make Tate’s first impression of Alex a reality.
